Yo! Just saw your blog pop up on my reccomended feed to read and saw the fics you write! I love the portrayal of nonbinary and neopronouns in all your fics and thought, "hey, I'm a trans dude who uses enby pronouns, lemme read." So far, I'm in love!
If possible, may I request one for LoZ? I thought it'd be neat to read a fluff piece with Sidon x trans masc reader, who's perhaps a little clumsy and gets Sidon's help via dance lessons? 👀 I may request something with Ganondorf later so keep an eye out, anyways! Have a wonderful day/night/whatever time of day it is for you! Kachow!
Thank you very much! I hope you have yourself a wonderful day as well! Please enjoy your order~

"Alright, the steps are simple." Sidon cued the director, who tapped his baton.
As the music started, he put his hands into position on your waist and hand. You followed suit, grasping his hand and putting your hand on top of his arm due to his height.
How did you end up dancing with the Zora Prince? Well, you had always wanted to dance, but the instructions never felt clear. That being said, Sidon took it upon himself to being your teacher, especially after you asked if he knew how to dance. He wouldn't dare miss up a chance to give his assistance.
"One two three, one two three." The music was slow, and Sidon's steps were clear after he gave the instructions. Move your foot like so, one. Step down, two. Move your body. Three. Going this speed, it wasn't so bad. You could actually move with some semblance of grace. "Yes! Wonderful! You're doing amazing!"
Sidon's praise made your cheeks a rosy pink, a shy smile growing on your face. "I-It's still slow. This really isn't much."
"Shall we go faster?"
"W-Wait--"
Sidon raised a hand, signaling the director to pick up the speed. With increased tempo came increased movements.
"One two three, one two three."
"O-One two three, one t-two three."
You tried keeping up with Sidon, the slight increase of speed already messing with your stepping. Your legs became tangled, and while trying to fix it, you stepped on Sidon's feet.
"G-Gh!"
Panicked, you stumbled back, hands over your mouth. "I-I'm so sorry, your highness!"
Chuckling, Sidon hopped on his good foot for a moment, lifting the stomped one to gently rub at the spot. "N-No worries, friend! It all comes with learning!"
A sense of guilt began to wash over you. Was this a bad idea? Did Sidon think you were too clumsy at this point to learn? After all, you barely just now got the slow steps down. How were you supposed move faster after just learning that?
"Shall we try again?"
...Should you? You nervously rubbed your arm, shyly looking away. "I-I think...maybe this was a stupid idea..." You took a step away from him as he approached you with an equal step.
Sidon's face fell into a look of hurt. He was hurt by your words, but not on his behalf. It was more like a worry for you. You had merely asked for assistance, and the way you were changing your mind startled him. He motioned for the band and director to take a break, telling them that he'll come and get him when they were ready. As they did, you found a seat on a large, nearby rock, facing away from the prince. You sat there alone for some time until Sidon sat beside you on the ground.
"...You want to know something?" he asked softly. "When I was learning how to dance, I stepped all over my sister's fins"
You kept your gaze ahead, but you listened.
"Yes I was much shorter than her, yet I insisted on learning the proper way. Such an inistance led to her poor feet being covered in little bruises from me stepping on her. She offered to hold me and take me through the motions, but I told her I wanted to learn properly."
You wondered why he was telling you this. At the moment, it just wasn't clicking in your head.
Sidon looked over at you, giving you one of his comforting smiles. "What I'm saying is, no one is going to get things right away. There will be trials, there will be hardships, even with something as simple as dancing."
You started to understand, sighing out and rubbing the back of your head sheepishly. "I-I just...I don't want you to see me as some klutz...I want to seem elegant to you, match the energy you have..."
"Oh, my dear. I am far from what elegance you think I have." Sidon let out a chuckle, gently rubbing your back for reassurance. "Trust me, I often wish the same from my father, to be as elegant and dignified as him. I still work on it everyday."
Sidon? In a similar position as you? It felt impossible but...well...it did feel reassuring to not be alone. And he was right, these things take time after all.
"So...Shall we work on our steps again?" Sidon asked with a more signature grin of his, holding out his hand.
You gazed at the extended limb, sighing out with a small smile.
"Y-Yeah. Let's try again."

Okay y'all, here's my next Zora May entry!
If you don't know already, Zora May is hosted by the amazing @prisiidon, and this propt was "formal ball"!
(Sidenote I was listening to Aphex Twin while writing this to take that how you will)
There was a very important event in Zora's Domain, and Sidon was fretting most of it. That night was a very important ball—one that happened every few years—and it had to be perfect. Sidon had already finished planning everything, but there was something else that was bugging him. Link.
How could he be seen eating with and dancing with Link? Who would Yona dance with? What would the people of the domain think? What would he do?!
Sidon was eventually snapped out of this state of panic by a certain silly-yet-stoic knight grabbing hold of his hand. Link was having the exact opposite emotions as Sidon was. Link had a small smile on his face and was excited to dance with his king. Even though Link was nervous about the ball a bit as well, Link was ready for everything that might happen. Link nuzzled Sidon's arm as he held the King's hand and smiled.
“Sidon, everything's gonna be fine. If anyone wants to talk bad about us then they can fuck off!”
“Link! While I agree with what you said, you cannot cuss out our citizens!”
“But what if they deserve it?” Link said in mock disappointment.
“Link, even if they deserve it, that's not a royal thing to do!”
“I guess… You do know that I wasn't really gonna do that, right?”
“Yes, Link, I do. I can easily tell when you are joking.”
Link let out a soft laugh and hugged Sidon, a sweet smile on his face. Sidon can easily read Link like a book, and Link knew this.
“Now, my pearl, I sewed an outfit for you for the ball tonight,” Sidon said, a soft smile on his face.
“Ooo! Can I see it, Sidon?” Link responded quickly.
“Of course! I shall go and get it. I intentionally set it with my more elaborate regalia.”
Sidon quickly walked over to where he kept his regalia and got a beautiful white and silver suit and an equally as pretty white circle skirt with blue accents. The fact that there wasn't any trousers or a blouse showed that the two items were meant to be worn together, and it was a tad surprising for Link. Link didn't mind, though, as he was fine with wearing a suit or a dress. The ball was in a couple hours, so there was a bit of time for Link, Sidon, and Yona to work out all the kinks of the ball together.
Once Yona got back from doing queen stuff, she sat down by Link and Sidon and smiled at them. The smile wasn't just because she was happy to see them, no no, it was also because Link was sitting in Sidon's lap and was clearly happy to be with his king.
“Hello Yona. Link and I have discussed the ball and have decided that we do not care what anyone says about us, but we still have a problem. Who will you dance with? I do not mind you dancing with anyone, I just don't know how you would feel,” Sidon said.
“Oh, I'm fine with that arrangement, Sidon! There's this Zora woman that I have seen around the domain, and I was hoping that I would be able to ask her to dance with me!” Yona responded.
“I hope that she says yes, Yona!” Link chirped.
“Thank you, Link. I hope she does too…” Yona mumbled, clearly thinking about this woman whom she wanted to dance with.
Link and Sidon just smiled, and Link quickly got back to snuggling with Sidon. Link is quite the stubborn Hylian, so if he wants snuggles, you're gonna have to give them to him if you don't want to deal with him bugging you all day! Link's snuggles are wonderful to Sidon anyway, so he really doesn't mind at all.
Several hours later, it was time for the ball. Sidon was dressed in his full kingly regalia—a beautiful thing made with beautiful jewels, shiny silver, and beautiful fabrics. Yona was wearing a similar outfit to Sidon, but the person with the most eye-catching outfit was Link. The Hylian was wearing the beautiful skirt suit that Sidon sewed for him, and it made him look stunning. The skirt segment didn't restrict Link's movement, and what makes it better is that the skirt had pockets!
The three went to the banquet table to wait for the rest of the attendees. One after another, Zora of every status in society—the unemployed to royal guards—came into the room and sat down at the table. Link's outfit and seat right next to the king got a few stares, but Link didn't mind. Once everyone was there, the food was passed around, and every person at attendance got a good portion. The only variable that could have gone wrong was that Fronk and Mei brought their children, but they were very well behaved.
Once the feasting was over, everyone filed into the ballroom to dance. Before Sidon got the ability to ask Link for a dance, many Zora swarmed him to ask about whatever they needed.
“King Sidon,” Tula started, “Are you going to dance with Queen Yona? You two would be perfect dance partners!”
“Actually, Tula, I was going to dance with Link. Yona told me that she wanted to ask for another Zora's hand for a dance,” Sidon said.
“What?! But you and Yona are husband and wife! You two should dance with each other!”
“Well, we do not want to dance together. We both gave permission that we could dance with other people, and the person I want to dance with is Link.”
“But—”
“I will dance with him no matter what anyone says. He is my dearest, and I shall be by his side as long as he wishes for me to be.”
This shut Tula up quickly, and Sidon quickly got through every other Zora who needed to ask him something. Once that was done, Sidon turned to Link and extended his hand.
“May I have this dance, my pearl?”
“Pshh, obviously. You don't even have to ask, dummy,” Link said in response.
Sidon chuckled in response, and he gently grabbed Link's hands. Before they started dancing though, Sidon and Link spied Yona asking her attendant Khira something, and by both of their reactions it was clear that Yona asked her to dance. It seems like King Fasolla, Yona's homophobic father, gave her the wrong attendant in his eyes. He would be mortified if he found out that his daughter is dancing with one of her attendants. He doesn't need to know, however, and Link and Sidon won't tell anyone.
Now, it was time for Link and Sidon to dance. The two slowly danced together, though at times their dancing got a touch faster. The two were dancing beautifully, and the gentle spin of Link's skirt as they moved as one accentuated their beauty. Link and Sidon looked like a proper king and queen, but in this case it could be considered that they were a proper king and prince.
Most eyes were on the pair as they danced, and Sidon and Link noticed this. Sidon then spun Link around in his arms, though Link was a bit clumsy and almost fell. Sidon, luckily, was there to catch the Hylian in an accidental passionate move. Link was incredibly embarrassed, as was obvious from his face being smothered in a deep pink.
“Careful there, my pearl. I wouldn't want you to fall!” Sidon teased.
“Shut up, you handsome fish! You weren't the one who was spun around, were you?” Link rebuked jokingly.
“That is true, you handsome devil.”
“Stop complimenting me in front of the entire domain!”
“What if I don't?”
“Then I'll… I'll bite one of your fins off!”
“Violent much?”
“Just… Keep dancing with me and shut your mouth!”
“Well I can't resist orders from my dearest Hylian, can I?”
“Sidon!”
Sidon let out a soft chuckle at Link's possibly-faux anger. Well, really probably-faux anger, as Link doesn't sound so giggly when he's really peeved at something.
Sidon and Link then went back to dancing, and they danced just as beautifully as before. Yona and Khira were dancing as well, and they looked as beautiful as Link and Sidon as they slowly moved in each other's arms. Yona, Sidon, and Khira were definitely more graceful than Link, but Link was doing his best, and was still quite graceful all things considered. People were still staring at Link and Sidon, but the two could hardly care about anything other than their moves, steps, and each other. It's as though they were linked together with a thread at the heart and hands.
Link then tripped again, but this time it was on purpose. Once Sidon steadied him in his arms, Link was ready to put his plan into action. Link pulled Sidon's face in the last few centimeters and kissed him. Link kissed Sidon on the lips then and there. If their dancing already didn't cause a scandal, then this must have! Luckily, though, it was never more than a surprise to most Zora. The elderly Zora on the other hand were much more angry about this kiss, with them saying “Our King can't be gay!” and other such bullshit.
It was Sidon's turn to be embarrassed now, the King of the Zora's face becoming an almost as vivid red as his scales.
“Link! What was that for?!” Sidon asked.
“Payback,” Link simply retorted.
"Ah, well I guess I cannot find any flaws with that logic.”
Sidon then went to sit down with Link, so that he wouldn't faint.
Eventually, the ball was over, and everyone left the palace. Yona kissed Khira on the cheek before she left.
“Khira, thank you for dancing with me. I would happily dance with you again,” Yona said sweetly.
“No, thank you for dancing with me! It was a blast, Yona—and if you would like, I would happily think about courting you if King Sidon was fine with it,” Khira said in response.
“I'm sure that he would be fine with it. The only problem is that my father would raise the wrath of Ganon on us if he ever found out.”
“He would, so I must assume courting you will be for some other time.”
“Yes, it will be, but I cannot wait.”
With that, Khira left the palace, and Yona went to join Link and Sidon.
Sidon and Link didn't ask about anything, but they told Yona that they were proud of her for asking Khira to dance. The three eventually got back to the room that they shared. Sidon had a really comfortable water bed, and all three of them had to share it.
Link kicked off his shoes, changed into the undershirt of his Champion's Tunic and some comfortable trousers, and hopped into bed. Sidon and Yona took off their regalia before joining Link, as metal poking into your skin as you sleep isn't very comfortable. Link quickly started cuddling with Sidon, and Yona grabbed a book for her to read. Link made a few mumbled “Good night”s to Sidon and Yona before falling into the arms of slumber. Sidon very soon joined him, leaving Yona as the only one awake.
Yona couldn't help but think about Khira for several minutes before she fell asleep. Once she did, her dreams were filled with dreams of courting Khira and becoming her loving wife. Sidon, on the other hand, dreamt of the beautiful blond-haired Hylian in his arms.

A Champion's Love: Chapter 17

~~~ <> ~~~
“So, I surveyed the land today in an effort to both keep myself busy and plan for the next trial. Past the eastern exit of the palace is Mikau Lake, this is where the glowing point shows up on the slate’s map,” Zelda explained to you, “at the base of the lake is a glowing blue ring, similar to the one you described for the first trial. I can only assume that this reflects the final verse in Kass’ song ‘chase rings of the waterfall’. Above Mikau Lake is a series of small and large waterfalls which end at a small cliff below the very top of Ploymus Mountain.”
You were listening intently to the princess as she spoke. Your meeting with the king had been adjourned and he’d been happy to approve of your trip to the next trial point upon seeing that you were indeed healthy and properly healed. Now you were sitting on the steps leading up to the throne room, looking down at the map of Zora’s Domain as she pointed out each spot.
“Brilliant. Shall we head out now?” the prince asks.
He was standing a few steps behind you, and while you couldn’t see him, you could practically feel his presence.
Zelda nods as she hands the Sheikah Slate over to you for safekeeping, “I don’t see why not. We’ve got plenty of daylight left, and it wouldn’t take us long at all to reach Mikau Lake. We should have no need to bring a squadron of guards this time, upon my survey of the land I saw no monsters in the area.”
You push yourself up and stretch your arms up, “sounds good to me, I’ve just gotta get the Zora armor then I’ll meet you guys at the east exit?
“Yes of course, I’ll let Muzu know that we’re leaving and meet you there as well,” Zelda replies, giving you a small wave before she walks up the steps back into the throne room.
This leaves you alone with the prince, whom you smile awkwardly at before dashing down the steps. You hear him call out your name, yet you pretend not to hear him as you speedily head into the palace corridors back to your bedchambers.
‘Ughhh, what are you doing? You can’t just blow him off and ignore him like that after what just happened, you’ll have to talk to him about it eventually,’ you grumble inwardly.
You move quickly once in your room, fitting the armor over your torso and securing it in all the right places. As you tighten all of the necessary straps and slip on your gloves, your mind is swimming with thoughts and questions. However, you attempt to push them all aside as you run out of the bedchambers and up to the east exit.
You arrive at the center of the bridge where a small arch offers shade from the sunlight. You lean against the pillar of the arch and sigh, thinking to yourself, ‘I’ll talk to him after this final trial. Let’s sort out this Divine Beast business, then I can sort out these feelings.’
A few minutes pass and eventually Sidon shows up, with Captain Bazz walking beside him. The two are having what appears to be a rushed conversation, speaking in hushed tones. You notice that as they approach the arch way, Bazz repeatedly throws a few glances your way before leaning over to the prince and whispering something to him.
Sidon brushes his friend away, and the captain laughs playfully as he jogs away, most likely to return to his post. The prince sighs, adjusting his arm bands and sash before walking up to you. You notice him hesitate before he speaks.
“Hello again, little one,” he greets you nervously, with a very visible blue blush on his face, “would you mind if we discussed what happened before-”
You’re quick to interrupt him, your own face feeling hot with blush, “look, can we talk about this after the final trial? I feel like it might be a… complicated conversation.”
The prince quickly nods in agreement, “yes yes, you’re correct, apologies.”
He goes silent, as do you, and the tension in the air feels thick enough to be sliced by even the dullest, rusted blade.
There’s a pitter patter against the smooth stone flooring, and you look up to see the princess running over with a smile on her face, “the King is aware of the trip, and Captain Bazz says he’ll be keeping an eye on the area just in case any trouble arises- ummm… are you two alright?”
She looks between both you and Sidon with a confused expression.
“Y-yeah! No, we're fine, everything’s good, we were just waiting for you!” you quickly stammer out, giving her a not-so-convincing grin.
You were lying through your teeth, but if Zelda noticed she said nothing about it. “Wonderful, though… I will have to stay behind for the final trial. A group of Zora architects have arranged for a meeting with King Dorephan and I so we can discuss future renovations for Hyrule Castle. I’d hate to keep them waiting for another occasion to speak with us while I’m still in Zora’s Domain. I know the two of you are more than capable of handling this last part of the trials alone, yes?”
You go slightly wide eyed at this. You’d been leaning on the idea that Zelda would stay with you and Sidon to keep the tension level low. You force yourself to nod though, smiling at the princess as you wave her off, “no worries, Zelda, we’ll be alright. Go have your meeting, we can handle this trial.”
Zelda grins, wishing the both of you luck before turning back and heading towards the throne room once more.
Looking to your side, you lock eyes with the prince before quickly turning away bashfully.
Together, the two of you walk down the rest of the bridge, heading towards Mikau Lake. It’s less of a lake and more of a pond, quaint and small, but with a tall waterfall feeding into it from the series of lakes above that lead all the way up the side of Ploymus Mountain.
A pair of ducks fly away as you approach, splashing the water and honking noisily. “Guess we disturbed them,” you giggle, unhooking the Sheikah Slate from your belt as you approach the pond’s edge.
Blue light comes into your sight, and you’re able to see the first blue ring that Zelda had told you about. It’s hovering midair above the pond, a circle identical to the one you’d touched in the Lanayru sea.
“After you,” you say to the prince, letting him walk ahead of you to touch the ring.
He smiles, before approaching the light and gently holding a hand out. His fingers just barely brush against the blue glow before a chiming sound rings out and the ring shrinks into a much smaller light. It zips past both of you, bouncing over a rock that juts out of the lake before settling a few feet above the ground atop the waterfall.
The ring sits horizontal now.
“Looks like we’ve got to go up,” you murmur, putting the slate back on your belt as you ready yourself to swim.
There’s a touch on your shoulder and you visibly jump, backing away from the prince. He drops his hand, and there’s a look of hurt on his face - followed by a pang in your heart.
“Apologies for startling you, I was simply going to offer you a ride on my back to ascend these waterfalls. There’s multiple, so I assumed that it would make it simpler for the both of us as you’re still recovering from your injuries,” he explains, his eyes flicking up to meet your own.
‘Sidon, I healed myself, the only ‘injury’ I’ve got now is the hickey you left on my neck.’
You don’t dare say that out loud though. Rather, you let out a sigh and smile at him shyly, “nah, it’s okay, just a bit, um… jumpy. Right now. But yeah, I can ride on your back, there’s no better swimmer in the domain than you after all.”
This makes him grin, and you’re happy to see his signature smile once more. The two of you wade into the water, and once you’re at the base of the fall you climb onto his back, securing your legs around his torso and arms around his neck. Being flush against him like this makes you feel slightly hot and bothered, but you push that aside as you focus on the task at hand.
“Alright, all you’ve gotta do is swim right through the ring and follow it to wherever it goes next,” you instruct.
The prince shivers beneath you. He shivers. You quickly realize that it’s because you were speaking against his ear, practically breathing on his neck.
“Hold on tight, little one,” he replies, and then you’re off.
You can’t help the grin that plays on your lips as you zip up the side of the waterfall, droplets of water whipping past you as the prince shows off his swimming finesse.
He dashes through the center of the ring, and just as before it shrinks into a smaller light and flies ahead of both of you, forming into a second ring to swim through. Sidon repeats this process, swimming through each ring the light forms for him until the both of you have reached the very top of the waterfall.
He jumps out, maneuvering in the air so that he holds you in his arms as he lands on firm ground. It was such a rush, an absolute thrill and you found yourself grinning as the both of you found your footing once more. You attempted to, still, ignore how hot and flushed his grasp made you feel.
“Um, Sidon,” you mumble, tapping his chest, “you can put me down now.”
His eyes go wide as he loosens his hold and quickly sets you down, “yes, so sorry, my thoughts keep getting away from me.”
You quickly balance in the grassy area, looking towards the next lake where the ring has settled. “Welp, guess we’re doing it again. C’mon, princey,” you wave him along, jogging to the next pond.
The prince chuckles as he follows along, and you continue the trial as a pair.
…
After ascending the rest of the waterfalls together, the two of you finally reach the top. You’d perfected your landing strategy while chasing the rings, and now Sidon would no longer have to hold you when you jumped out of the water. Now you would simply need to twist in the air and land at the same time, keeping one another balanced.
The final ring is on land. It’s much larger and intricate than any of the others before it, surrounded by floating Sheikah symbols. The prince walks towards it, brushing his fingers against the circle. The ring of light shrinks, though this time there is no light remaining.
You look around confused, until a sudden rumbling nearly shakes you off of your feet. A shrine emerges from the ground before you, identical to the previous two. Once it’s fully revealed, the rumbling stops, and the shrine building glows a bright orange.
You hop onto the shrine platform and unhook the slate from your belt, swiping it across the pedestal. Its orange lights dim and turn blue, and the shrine door unlocks and reveals its hollow interior.
“One more time?” you ask Sidon, turning to look back at him with a smile.
“One last time,” he replies with a grin.
Together you walk into the shrine, the prince having to hunch over in its small space. You press the button to activate the elevator, and very quickly the two of you are descending into the final shrine puzzle.
…
The elevator deposits you in a very tall room. Ahead of you in a shallow waterfall, one not deep enough to swim up. In front of the waterfall are two large metal blocks with indents, you’d be able to climb either of them. The metal blocks are connected to rail meaning you can move them up and down. There’s two landings on either side of the waterfall, though you’re willing to bet that the one highest above the ground is what will take you to the exit of the shrine.
“It’s a puzzle,” you murmur, brow furrowed as you examine the wall, “we have to get up onto that landing. We’ll have to use those metal blocks somehow, luckily I’ve got plenty of runes to figure it out.”
“Well, the only way to solve a puzzle is to attempt every solution we come up with,” Sidon grins, walking down the steps and hopping onto the water covered flooring.
The next few minutes are filled with you and the prince performing every possible answer to the puzzle you can come up with. Eventually, you use the water on the floor to put cryonis pillars beneath both of the metal blocks. With Sidon’s help, you climb up onto the lower platform, and in an alcove in the wall is a third, smaller metal block that you can use to stack upon the others.
Eventually, you end up making a stairway of sorts, using the metal blocks and ice pillars.
“Damn, it’s almost enough to reach that top platform, but we don’t have anything else to build with,” you curse looking up at your latest attempt.
“Well, all we can do is climb and see how close we can get,” Sidon suggests, digging his fingers into the ice pillar as he begins his climb.
With a shrug of your shoulders, you follow up after him, managing to climb to the very top where you’d used the last metal block. The higher landing you needed to reach was just barely out of your grasp- but you could make it.
“Give me a lift?” you ask Sidon with a shy smile.
The prince is more than happy to oblige, picking you up in his arms and boosting you up onto the platform. You climb atop it, before reaching your hands down and helping him up as well. You bump into one another and giggle nervously, like a pair of shy teenagers.
Rounding the corner, you’re greeted by the sight of a monk. It’s the end of the shrine.
Sidon, who’s become familiar with the routine, approaches the monk’s pedestal and places his hand upon the blue barrier. It shatters, and a light appears before the monk, and very soon the prince now has his third of Ruta’s tokens.
As the monk disintegrates, you turn to look at the Zora, “well, guess we should head out and see what happens now, yeah?”
He nods and grins, “so we shall.”
…
Walking out of the shrine, you’re greeted by the soft hues of a setting sun. You’d been in the shrine for far longer than you thought, the sky was a gradient of gentle oranges and deep violets.
There’s a buzz on your hip. Confused, you take the slate off of your belt and check the map. There’s a new glowing point, and it’s right where Divine Beast Vah Ruta is situated in the mountainous area of Zora’s Domain.
You quickly show Sidon, who seems intrigued by the new information. “Let’s return to the palace and let Zelda now. I have a feeling that this is where the trial will truly be completed,” he decides.
The pair of you quickly traverse back to the palace, taking advantage of the waterfalls and lakes until you return to the eastern exit you’d used hours previously. Together, you run across the bridge and up the stairs that lead into the throne room.
“Zelda!” you shout once you reach the top of the staircase.
Conveniently the princess is there, having what appears to be a polite conversation with King Dorephan. She looks somewhat startled at your sudden interruption, but grins upon seeing you, “_____! Sidon! How’d the trial go?”
“Brilliantly,” Sidon exclaims with his signature smile.
“Yeah!” you agree, unhooking the slate from your belt and holding it out to her, “plus we’ve got a new spot on the map. We need to go to the Divine Beast.”
The princess takes the Sheikah Slate into her hands and looks over the map curiously, reading up on any new information it has to offer her, “fascinating. Well, do you want to wait? Do you want to go now? Whatever you choose to do next, I’m fully supportive.”
You turn, looking back towards Sidon. “Well… it’s your trial. What do you want to do?” you ask him.
The prince brings his hand to his chin, mulling over it for a few moments, before a beaming smile spreads across his face, “well, I don’t see why we can’t very well go to the Divine Beast right now. Perhaps it’s simply my enthusiasm and curiosity getting the better of me, but I’m bursting at the seams in anticipation of what may come next.”
You hear the king chuckle behind you, “ah, that sounds very much like you, my son. Though the sun may be setting by no means must you put this next adventure on hold. Go on and go forth! I must admit that I too am quite excited to see what follows.”
“Well, my meeting with the architects is complete, and if we’re leaving for Ruta now I’d be more than happy to tag along,” Zelda smiles, handing the slate back to you.
You hook it back onto your belt, and when you look up you see everyone in the room looking expectantly towards you. It takes you a moment to realize that they’re awaiting your approval for the mission. “Oh! Yes, of course I’ll be coming too.”
Sidon laughs before taking a step towards the staircase, “I’ll ask Bazz to come with us, nightfall might cause some added dangers as we trek through Upperland Zorana. We’ll bring torches as well. Zelda, _____, meet me at the Great Zora Bridge?”
“Will do,” you agree, and princess Zelda nods as well.
The next few minutes are a rush, you eat a quick dinner, change into some dry clothing, help Zelda pack a bag with all her notes and books on Ruta (just in case they’ll be needed), and get accosted by the Zora children before finally getting to the Great Zora Bridge.
You greet Bazz, who seems happier to see you than normal, before the four of you head up into the mountains to continue the trials.
…
It takes a few hours, but you finally make it in the middle of the night. Luckily, the monster activity was little to none, the biggest threat was a small camp of Bokoblins that both you and Bazz were able to wipe out in a matter of seconds.
You arrive at the plateau that the Divine Beast calls its home. Its blue glow keeps the area around it lit brightly, and you put out the flames of your torch as you walk up to it.
“Sidon, you’ve got all three tokens, yes?” you ask him, turning to look at him as he walks closer to you.
“Yes, I -” he begins, but as soon as he sets foot on the plateau there’s a toll that rings out in the air, and a voice begins to speak.
“To the one who approaches this Divine Beast… In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial. In exchange for Ruta’s Emblems… you will be granted the chance to tread through the realm of memories.”
“... memories?” you ask aloud, confused. Looking back to the prince, the three tokens he held in his hands glow bright before disappearing, and the voice continues to speak.
“Those who lack determination will find this trial unforgiving. Do not take this place lightly, nor dismiss it as merely a world within your mind. The truth is much deeper than you know.”
Everything goes silent. Deathly silent. Nobody moves, not even the water beneath the Divine Beast seems to trickle.
Then suddenly the prince gasps. He bends over and clutches his chest as though he’s in pain.
“S-Sidon?” you stammer, scared as you attempt to walk towards him.
You don’t get a chance to approach before he’s suddenly enveloped in a bright golden light. The light grows smaller, shifting into an orb roughly the size of your hand. The orb floats in the air momentarily before zipping away, flittering towards the Divine Beast.
The torch and spear the prince had been holding both fell, clattering on the ground.
“Sidon!” you scream, running towards the Divine Beast, but there’s a force that blocks you from entering.
Panic and fear well up in your chest, and you stumbled backwards, falling onto the ground.
You weren’t the only one panicking.
“Where is he? Where did that thing take him?” Bazz exclaims, running towards Ruta only to be held back as well.
“Both of you! Fretting like this will solve nothing,” Zelda exclaims, speaking in a stern tone of voice she rarely used, “all we can do is await his return. This is a part of the pilot’s trial. We cannot interfere or stop it.”
So you sit. And wait. And wait. And wait.
Judging by the clock on the Sheikah Slate, hours pass, and nothing happens.
Princess Zelda sat near the edge of the Plateau, using the slate to tirelessly read through notes and see if Mipha had written anything about what just happened during her own experience becoming a pilot. Bazz stood watch beside her, needing something to keep him distracted from the prince’s disappearance.
You, however, were sitting in the water, staring up at the Divine Beast. Your thoughts could not stop rushing, and you felt sick to your stomach with anxiety.
You just wanted him to be safe. You needed him to be safe. There was so much you hadn’t gotten the chance to tell him…
From this vantage point, you could easily see the Lanayru sea in the distance, and this meant you were able to see the first rays of light as the sun slowly began to rise up above the horizon.
You sniffle and raise your hand to your face as you watch the sky lighten up. There were tear streaks on your cheeks. You hadn’t even realized you’d been crying.
Suddenly, Ruta’s light glows an even brighter blue. You’re quick to stand up, pushing yourself up off the ground. The golden orb that’d taken Sidon reappears, floating down from the top of the beast and settling near the ground.
The orb bursts, and the prince is placed down onto the plateau.
His body is littered with bruises and open, bleeding wounds.
“... Sidon?” you ask carefully, taking a fearful step towards him.
He, however, is quick to whip around and look towards you. His eyes scan over your figure, and before you can react he runs towards you, swooping you up into his arms and hugging you tightly.
You can’t help the smile playing on your lips, and hug him back as best you can. “Sidon, what hap-” you attempt to ask, but he moves faster than you yet again.
He loosens his grip and pulls back just enough for your eyes to meet. He gives you an inquisitive look before leaning in and-
Kissing you.
He kisses you.
Sidon is kissing you.
You squeak in surprise, your face red hot with blush before you finally come to your senses and kiss him back. Bringing your hands up, you hold his face carefully, and it’s only when he pulls back that you realize you’ve been left breathless
You’re doing mental somersaults as you’re set down on the ground. Behind Sidon, you’re able to see the shocked faces of both the princess and the captain.
“Sidon, are you-” you begin, yet there’s another interruption.
The prince stumbles backwards, before passing out and crumpling onto the ground in a heap.
not me crying over the wind temple and tulin and revali all in one go love this for me 🫠
(more crying under the cut / includes botw/totk/aoc spoilers)
I just watched the clip of revali and tulin in aoc and idk man I just love it so much and I cried because like…. wow I had to take a moment and think about the fact that tulin is not only the new wind sage but he’s REVALI’S SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR
don’t get me wrong I do love teba as well and he was p much the champion in botw. but tulin literally told revali in aoc that he wanted to be just like him and one day master the great eagle bow and idk maybe bc I JUST watched teba pass the great eagle bow down to tulin but that really took me out and my eyes started to water jahsjsjssjsjdhdh
and revali like literally not being his usual asshole self and melting at how soft and cute and sweet tulin is and he was like “yk one day you could end up just like me, who knows” AND THE EXCITED LITTLE SOUNDS TULIN MADE TO TEBA ABOUT HIS HERO ENCOURAGING HIM 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
AND TULIN EVEN TRIED TO IMITATE REVALI AND HIS COOL DEMEANOR I AM IN SHAMBLES 🫠🫠 and it made revali LAUGH
revali, the very prideful, very arrogant, very cocky revali LAUGHED AND SMILED 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭😭😭 THOSE ARE MY BABIESSSSSSS (revali having a soft spot for tulin is my new favorite thing)
like idk I’m glad the new sage was tulin and not teba. like sidon being the new water sage makes sense, I’m glad they didn’t introduce another zora or anything but besides sidon revali was my favorite and I didn’t learn about tulin till totk BUT tulin has this youthful innocence and endearing confidence that just makes me feel like I’ve known him forever (when I tell you his little intro cutscene in totk made me tear up… it’s so pure and so wholesome 🥹)
tulin just has this little shounen protagonist energy and I love it so (it fits with his va being the voice of killua who —while I’ve never watched hxh— I know is a shounen protagonist) and he just has such a big heart and just thinking about how he now holds revali’s bow just got to me man
like……….
revali would be so proud of tulin if he could see him now, and that made me tear up. I love these two so much, other than sidon these two are my absolute favorites and thinking about the connection they got to have for those few moments in aoc got to me
also this all came up bc I was listening to colgera’s theme and how dragon roost, molgera, rito village AND the vibe of revali’s theme were all mixed in there. truly legendary it’ll be an iconic theme in the future I know it
man wind temple got hands…. video games man 🫠🥹
(Anon that killed reader here!) Okay so I kind of feel bad about the angst I put up earlier so here's something really fluffy and cool that I randomly thought about during history class.
K picture this, the chain is doing their own thing in camp and they hear kids screaming they go to check and see two kids. They help them and save them. The kids tell them they got dragged through a portal because of the symbol on their hand and now they don't know where they are. The chain looks at their little hands AND YEP THEY GOT THE GLOWING TRIANGLE ON THEM.
They say their names are Junior and Zel and they're brother and sister. They chill with them and help them THEN they start talking about their parents "My daddy is the King! He used to be a warrior and hunt bad people!" Like.... Oh that sounds familiar... The chain then thinks back to his name and ask. "Is your name Junior or, does it stand for something else?" Jr. then just drops the bomb on them and says "I was named Link Junior after my dad! And Zel was named after our auntie Zelda!"
Okay....now they know that technically Junior and Zel, are their kids...
Then they start talking about their mom.
Everyone is listening, every detail is taken in for them to think about like just whooooo would marry them???? Zel then shows a blue heart container necklace and says that her mom has the same one and if it glows she is near. Important detail, they all think. Later they go to Wilds world and go see Sidon to rest, the kids are happy to see Sidon and yell out "Uncle Sidon!" And go hug him cuz they don't know that that's not t h i e r uncle Sidon. The chain then have to explain to Sidon and the whole time he just be smirking.
You then hear a gasp from Zel as her necklace is glowing the kids look at each other and run towards the entrance, the group not far behind. All you see is the beautiful, lovely, gorgeous, caring and smiling reader. Her necklace glowing as it matches with Zel's then they just scream "MOMMY!" and run, the reader runs over to hug and kiss her kids.
AND AT THAT VERY MOMENT, THE WHOLE CHAIN KNEW WHY THEY FEEL IN LOVE AND MARRIED THE READER!!!!!
Sidon in the back just smirking at the lovestruck faces the chain has.
This honestly could be a prompt on it's own.
You and him meet your future kids.
Imagine the chaos.
A Yiga attacks you, drawing blood. A mighty roar sounds in the distance, and not even a minute later, a feral Sidon emerges from the water, enraged and ready to kill. With a few well-placed snaps of his powerful jaws, Sidon has ripped the Yiga to shreds. When you get back to the Domain, Sidon is livid with you, berating you for trying to run away.
Tears run down your face uncontrollably as the Zora prince begins screaming at you, angry and ballistic as his stance makes you feel small and pathetic. You honestly weren’t trying to do anything! All of this started because of a misunderstanding and he won’t even take a second to listen to you!
Words are stuck in your throat as he sighs and turns around, too angry to look at you. You’re always starting trouble! Always ignoring his warnings! Why is it so hard for you to listen?!
“Sidon please I wasn’t-“
“I don’t want to hear it!”
“If you would just listen to me-“
“I SAID I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT!” He snaps, eyes turned to slits as he glared at you, mouth formed into a snarl “I don’t want to hear another word from you. You’ve deliberately disobeyed me and nearly gotten yourself killed! Unless the next words from you are an apology you can keep quiet for the rest of the day”.
You clench your fists, his words hurting and making you feel like a child being scolded. “If I knew you would treat me like a fucking child I would’ve let the Yiga kill me. I’m so tired of you acting like I can’t take care of myself. Fine. You want silence? Have it”.
Dramatic theatrics always pissed you off, and Sidon having the gall and audacity to act like he was scolding you out of love was asinine and grating on your nerves. Perhaps you should have been the one shredded by his teeth, at least then he’d actually do you a favor.
Not being allowed to go anywhere, be allowed to do anything, or even be allowed to speak your mind was absolute hell! You’re so fucking tired of it! If he wants to play games and be emotional then you can too.
Childish? Yeah but nothing about this situation was mature or on a level of calm and collected.
Hours go by, and you’re examining the bruises left by the attack as you sit by the waterfall. Another Zora guard is by your side, and he seems to want to say something but only nervously rocks on his feet as you stare down at the waters below.
“...He’s just looking out for you...you know?”.
You make a noise, looking up at the pale green Zora as he clears his throat and looks away. “The prince. He’s not doing it in the best way but...he just really cares about you and your well-being”.
You shake your head, not believing a word the fish said. “He’s got a funny way of showing it. That’s for fuckin’ sure” you bite out, looking up where the prince was pacing back and forth in the throne room. He still seemed livid and feral, but there was a hint of remorse behind those usually kind eyes.
With a sigh, the guard nods his head, toying with the shaft of his spear “The prince has had many hardships that he had no control over. You’re the closest person he’s been able to have in centuries. He doesn’t want to lose someone important again. I know he goes about it in a strange way, but you must know it comes from a good place”.
Sure. A good place. Right.
What’s so good about being treated like an incompetent child? Or being blamed for something you had zero control over? No, Sidon is just being cruel and controlling. Nothing sweet about it.
The Zora could tell you were hard set on brooding and frowing. Understandable given your circumstances. However he felt the need to try and cheer you up, even if just a little.
“Perhaps now that things have calmed down...you two could try to talk again? I’m sure even if you have choice words to say, it’s better than giving him the silent treatment”.
“HE’S THE ONE WHO WANTED ONE!” You spit, splashing the water slightly with the gesture you made with your hands. You huff, seeing the look on the guards face and turning to face the waterfalls again. “He won’t listen anyway. He’s mad at me and I’m tired of him. He only cares about how he feels, not about how I feel”.
“That’s not true, my pearl” a familiar, deep voice replied. You stiffen, turning to face the larger, more colorful Zora. Even now his eyes still held anger, but not for you. No he was angry with himself for letting his emotions take over, allowing instinct to muddle what he was truly trying to say.
He hurt you, and he can’t forgive himself. He swore to protect you and all he has done is smother the light you used to shine.
“...” you say nothing, turning back around and trying your best to stay silent. Crossing your arms over your chest, you shrug your shoulders as the only attempt at communication. Sidon nibbles his lips as he plays with his fingers nervously, debating on how to apologize and approach you.
He too stayed silent, giving a head tilt towards the guard to leave his post. Once the other left, he sat down in the waters beside you, drumming his fingers on the floor as his lips pout in thought. The sky was turning into a beautiful twilight, and the moons light casting upon you only made you look even more stunning. He could see the bruises made on you, and his chest ached knowing you were hurt.
You had defensive signs all over you. Signs that you didn’t go with the Yiga warrior willingly. Marks that proved you were scared and needing his protection and all he offered in return was anger and blame.
“...I’m sorry...” he said softly, eyes lowered “I...I thought you and the yiga...I...well-“
You cut him off, not looking in his direction as you finish what he was struggling to say “You assumed I was teaming with the enemy. I know” you bitterly state, fingers clenching your elbows as your arms were folded over, cradling yourself as a form of comfort. “Shows how much you trust me....”you weakly added, voice cracking.
Guilt was bubbling inside of him. He’s known you for so long yet he let his insecurities taint his image of you. And look where that’s gotten him! Your warmth was dying out because he can’t seem to realize that you aren’t like the others. Sidon knows you aren’t fragile and that you’ll always be by his side, but time and time again he ignores these facts over his emotion.
It goes silent again, the crickets chirping in the distance being the only noise for a while as he watches your face glimmer in the starlight. Amazing and breath taking as ever. His hand reaches over towards you, gently laying ontop of your own, his fingers intertwining with yours.
“I can’t take back what I did. But I can say that it’s eating me alive and that I hate how it even left my mouth. And...I want you to know I do care about you. I know I’m controlling and intense and unreasonable...and the fact you haven’t tried to kill me yet is amazing “ he jokes, smiling when he sees the little bit of amusement etched into your face.
You squeeze his hand and give half a smirk “well...you make up for it when you let me get away with stealing snacks from the store...so I’d say it’s even”.
Both of you share a soft laugh, and you swing your feet over the falls as you clear your throat. “I-I know you’re just worried about me but...Sidon, I’m not some fragile toy. I’m not some bad guy either. I wouldn’t ever do anything dangerous and despicable like join the Yiga...or leave you”.
Sidon lowers his head, pressing it against Yours as he holds your clasped hands to his chest. “I know...I know and I’m such a fool for thinking otherwise. I’ll make this up to you darling, anyway you want! Just say the word and it’s yours!”.
You gently kiss his cheek, and give a soft breath in thought. “Anything?”.
He nods in affirmation “Anything.”
You grunt, standing up to maneuver onto his lap “Well...for now just hold me. I’ll think of something extravagant later. Deal?”.
He laughs, holding you closer and nodding his head “Deal”.
A Proposal Gone Awry
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Summary: Link has been touring the breadth and width of Hyrule to clear out the remaining monster camps, and soon enough, he reaches Zora’s Domain. Mipha asks him to wait before he heads back to the castle, which he was intending on doing... but some mischievous children may have other plans.
Thank you to @braidy-maidy, @zeldaelmo and @zeldadiarist for your help betaing!
Relationships: Link/Zelda Link/Mipha- Onesided Link & The Zora Children Mipha & Revali (Legend of Zelda)
Contains spoilers for AOC. This is my take on the Heart's Escort Mission- specifically what you get at the end of that.Basically- I turn my angst gun on another character whoopsie but I don't leave Mipha high and dry I promise!
Tags: Unrequited Love, Heartbreak, Healing, Emotional angst, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Angst with a Happy Ending
Link had just got back from the battlefield, and he’d left Mipha there, albeit reluctantly. She insisted she would be the one to check over the Zora troops, alone, “I’ll be able to heal them as I go along Link. Why don’t you go back to the Domain and rest whilst I finish up? You’re not wounded, are you?” He replied in the negative, or well, he’d shaken his head anyway. He’d remained with her still, but she’d sort of stammered for a while, something about final preparations, and it was okay for him to leave. Link wasn’t entirely sure why she didn’t want him to stay, but he hadn’t heard her clearly through what seemed to be perpetual rain on Ploymus mountain, and Mipha had become particularly jumpy around him lately, so he opted to leave her be. He just assumed she meant preparations for the healing she was going to do- and maybe that was a private thing? Or maybe she wanted to ask him to train at some point and it was preparations for that? Not that there was much need for it anymore, with the Calamity destroyed and sealed away, but he missed his childhood friend and would like to help her if she wanted it. Just before he left, she’d clutched his arm, and had asked if he could wait until dinner for her because she wanted to tell him something. He saw no reason to decline, so he’d given her a slight nod and then moved to leave.
As he meandered back through the twisting pathways, he realised that it wasn’t that late, but for some inexplicable reason he felt tired. Sunset had just fallen over the Domain, and now the luminous stones started to glow and fluoresce. It truly was a beautiful place, although… he wasn’t a huge fan of the way the water flowing the walkways had started to creep through his metal boots. He sighed, it had been a spur of the moment decision to wear his Soldier’s Armour, he had put his Champion’s Tunic through the wash multiple times since the Calamity fight and it was still drying in his Guard’s Chamber. He felt strangely bare without it, and he certainly missed the increased perception he had whilst wearing it. And, well, for other, uh, sentimental reasons. No, not because the Princess had made it for him. No. Not at all. He was pulled from his thoughts when his foot squelched uncomfortably in his now soaked socks into the metal plate of his boot. The flow of water had never been a problem as a child because he could run barefoot everywhere and no one would care, but now as the Hero it wouldn’t be seen as proper. He would have to polish them later, to avoid rust forming. And change his socks.
He slowly exhaled, it had been a long week of fighting off the remaining hordes of monsters from Calamity Ganon’s revival, today being the day that he had decided to help clear out the remnants in Zora’s Domain. It was funny, because before he wouldn’t have seen a weeklong absence from the Castle as a bad thing, but now… He blushed slightly, before shaking his head. He still had to go clean up, and then eat dinner, because by the Goddesses he was starving, and then meet Mipha… And perhaps he’d teleport back to the Central Tower and then to the Castle. Just to see her again. He missed being by her side, and it left him restless to know he wasn’t protecting her. Somehow over the course of their journey together those feelings of friendship and wanting to protect her had slowly morphed into something else. Or perhaps, he reflected, his reasoning for wanting to do those things had changed. But he could start to smell the aroma of freshly made hasty meat skewers made using the abundance of fleet lotus seeds around the Domain and Link’s stomach audibly grumbled. Ah, food was close, so he hurried the last few steps to reach the Dining Hall.
Just as he was about to go inside, four small bodies ploughed into him, and he let out a startled gasp. They tugged at his boots, and he only belatedly realised it was the members of The Big Bad Bazz Brigade. Bazz was at the forefront with the sword Link had gifted him when they were children proudly strapped to his back. The sword was barely off the ground, though, with the tip jutting into the passageway with every jump he made.
“LINK!” Bazz shouted, a huge smile plastered across his face.
“Hey Link!” Rivan jostled with Bazz and they flailed their arms at each other, with both of them gripping one of his legs. Link looked down and wasn’t sure what to do exactly. Did he try to separate them? Or peel them off him? He couldn’t help but smile at their antics though.
“You’re coming down to our Domain an awful lot recently, aren’t you?” Gaddison, The Heroine, had both hands on her hips but then moved to pull the two squabbling friends off his poor boots. He hadn’t realised how heavy Zoran children were.
Behind them shyly stood Sidon, he was smaller than all of them, and he gripped his Lightscale Trident with shaking hands.
Link nodded at Gaddison, pointed back towards the mountain where the monsters had been. She nodded sagely, understanding what he meant. Link moved to pick up Sidon, he hadn’t been allowed to join Bazz’s group because he was too young, but he still followed them everywhere. Actually, he tried so hard to prove his worth to be allowed in, he’d even climbed Ploymus mountain to face the Lynel there in an effort to prove his courage. Link found him to be adorable, Sidon reminded him of what he was like at that age, keen to please and prove he was capable, but too reckless for his own good. Sidon smiled his trademark smile and wrapped both arms around Link’s neck. Link smiled; aw he was so cute.
“Hey Link! When will you go swimming up the waterfall with us? You’re older now right, do you have your scales yet?” Rivan asked.
He shook his head. He didn’t have scales, and he wouldn’t ever get them because he wasn’t Zoran.
“HE’S A HYLIAN you ninny! He’s not a Zora! He won’t ever get scales like we will!” Ah Gaddison, ever the voice of reason in the group of rowdy boys. She mothered them all, he could remember that from when he used to play at the Domain, and she sprouted logic that the Zora-equivalent of a ten-year-old Hylian probably shouldn’t have, but who was he to judge.
Rivan looked traumatised. “So, we can never swim up the waterfall with Link then?”
“NO.” She paused, “Well, unless someone gives him armour with their scale on it.”
Bazz shoved his shoulder into hers, “Why don’t you do it then?”
She shoved him back, doubly hard, so much so that he ended up slipping in the water and skidding onto his bum. Link suppressed a bout of laughter at his enraged face. “Do I look like I have a White Scale yet Bazz? I can’t give him one if I don’t have one myself!” She bent down and whacked his arm again. “AND ANYWAY, did you not listen to the history lessons we’ve had- you only give your scale to the person you want to marry, basically as an engagement present.” She fluffed her fins around, “And I guess by association love.” She shuddered, “What a disgusting concept. Imagine loving a boy. How desperate do you have to be?”
Link suddenly felt ridiculously embarrassed. He tried going to the shop on the way here, but they didn’t sell the actual chest plate part of the Zora armour and had looked at him strangely when he’d showed them the Greaves and Helm he already had and pointed at his chest. Then again, maybe he should have actually voiced it. He found it bizarre, considering all the other races seemed fine with selling their complete armour sets. He chalked it off as just a Zora thing. But now he knew better. Farore, he had been such an idiot. How had he apparently missed this piece of information? He hadn’t known the Zora Armour was only given as an engagement gift! And to someone you loved no less. No wonder the staff in the shop had looked at him as if he had grown an extra head!
Bazz looked sheepish, scratching the back of his head. “Well, that was the girl side of things, Heroine.”
Rivan looked confused, “Then you don’t love Link?”
Gaddison blushed bright red, “NOT IN THAT WAY! And I’m only 52! That’s not appropriate at all!” She punched them both, “Do you not remember anything about our plan?”
Bazz scratched his chin. “We want to go swimming up the waterfall.”
Gaddison took a deep breath. “Well done, Bazz, son of Seggin. That’s the whole point of this venture, none of the adults will let us go on the waterfall by ourselves because we aren’t that strong.” She huffed and sat down, her legs crossed and both hands holding her face up in what Link recognised as classic-moody-child-face, “We just need some supervision is all. That is what Link would have been ideal for, but he doesn’t have the armour, it was a longshot really.”
Rivan piped up. “WAIT I remember now! Wasn’t this to do with Kodah?”
Up until that point, Link had been watching the three of them squabbling with amusement mostly. He’d been surprised with the revelation of the Zora Armour but how was he supposed to know the intricacies of Zora… courting (?) rituals. It struck him as weird that they hadn’t changed a single bit since when he was a child and when he played with them. Although, it made sense, that they had remained children whilst he had matured, because Hylians aged much faster compared to the Zora. As soon as Kodah was brought up though, he winced. He could still hear her screeching LINNY when he had walked into the Domain with the Princess who had come to recruit Mipha as a champion. It had been mortifying.
Gaddison sighed. “Yes, she said she was making the armour for a Hylian remember! And then that gossip that my mother heard that she was in fact going to propose to the Hero? In case you’ve been living under a rock- that Hero is sitting right there!” She pointed at him, and Link went red-faced, his eyebrows raised high. Oh, thank the Goddesses Kodah hadn’t done anything. He had no idea what he’d even say. How had she ever thought he’d agree anyway- it wasn’t like he’d talked to her properly since when he was four! But then, time passed differently for the Zora… “I thought she would have given it to him by now.” She huffed, “We should have realised that flaw in our plan.”
Bazz was uncharacteristically silent as the three of them sulked over not being able to go up the waterfall. Link felt bemused that all of their extensive planning was over this armour that apparently a lover, in this case Kodah, was meant to give to their loved one (him haha what a joke) so that he could wear said engagement gift and take them to the waterfall. He shook his head, children’s priorities and means to achieve those were always… entertaining to listen to. Bazz suddenly perked up, “Baby Prince!” Sidon looked up from where he had been resting his head on Link’s shoulder. “Didn’t you go blabbing around the other day to the King that Princess Mipha was making someone armour?”
Rivan enthusiastically nodded, “YEAH- you said that King Dorephan was worried about it, so he commi-ssioned someone to get the materials, and he gave them the Zora Greaves!”
Link swallowed; he had a small inclination of where things were going but he wasn’t sure. He pulled out the Greaves anyway and after a round of ohs and ahs, a hushed silence fell over the group, everyone watching Sidon as the small red spots on his cheeks flared a darker red. He sucked in a small breath and slowly nodded.
Bazz nodded, and immediately stood up. “This is a mission for the The Big Bad Bazz Brigade. We hereby announce that we will go searching for this Armour- this is your pre-pre-liminary mission, Rookie Comrade Sidon. We cannot go find Kodah’s armour because we have no clue where it is so that would waste valuable time, but you know where Mipha’s is don’t you?”
Sidon nodded, much more enthusiastically this time. Link held his hands up, trying to get them to stop.
Gaddison stood up then, “Wait, what if she made it for a Zora?”
Bazz shook his head, “We’ll make do. You want to go swimming tonight, don’t you Heroine?”
Link was vehemently shaking his head, and opened his mouth, but the words died in his throat. What were they doing? What was he agreeing to?! No, he had to say something, he might not know much about courting rituals, but he didn’t want to wear something meant as a present for an engagement!
“Hey!” They all looked at him, “Is this… okay?”
“We need to ask Comrade Gaddison for that information because we, ahem, didn’t, uh, study the particulars.”
Gaddison paused. “Well, I don’t really know. Do you just propose once in your life and that’s it? I mean technically the scales grow back right? It’s not like you have a gaping hole in your chest. And really, everyone seems to be making one at the minute, so it probably doesn’t hold all that fancy meaning anymore. And Lord Jabu Jabu knows we have so many traditions that no one other than the oldies bother with.”
Rivan piped up, “Princess Mipha is nice too, so she won’t mind right?”
Gaddison nodded, “True, and theoretically, we’re just borrowing it. It’s not like Link here will take it forever or something. It’s just so we can practise going up the waterfall a few times on our own, and then we’ll give it back. She probably won’t even know we’ve taken it!” She shook her head, “I surmise no issues Comrade Bazz. We may proceed.”
“Comrade Rivan?”
“Sounds good! It means we can swim with Link, right?”
Bazz sighed, “Yes it does. Good so, last person, Comrade Link?”
Link blinked. This whole situation had gone from zero to one hundred so fast. He wasn’t even sure what he was consenting to, and he was really confused. Did this armour really matter to the Zora? Apparently, it did to the shop keepers, but maybe he’d just confused them? That was highly likely considering he hadn’t even said anything to begin with. And Kodah had made him one and he’d last seen her when he was four- she couldn’t genuinely believe he would agree to marry her right? But even ignoring that, it made the whole thing seem a bit like a joke- surely the Armour doesn’t mean that much if you’d make it for someone who you haven’t talked to in years? Plus, the way Gaddison was talking, and she was really the only source of actual knowledge on the topic, made it seem like it was something all the Zora did in their spare time. But stealing Mipha’s potentially specific armour for her future husband? That felt really wrong. And he knew Mipha was a very serious person, not at all like Kodah, so he had a feeling this meant more to her. Plus, why exactly was he agreeing - because the kids wanted to go surfing vertically? That just felt ridiculous. He shook his head. No. He wasn’t going to ruin Mipha’s gift for her, um, future husband. It’s not what friends would do.
Bazz’s eyes widened, “Please Link. You don’t… play with us anymore. I know you’re all grown up, and you have like responsi-si-”
“Responsibilities you fool.”
“What she said!” and then Bazz opened up his pouch, “AND we got you a gift! Your favourite from the Domain, Hearty Salmon Meuniere!”
Link sighed, about to decline, but his stomach rumbled again and Bazz shoved the plate into his hand. He always was too susceptible to food. And, they made a valid point. He hadn’t spent much time with them lately and they seemed desperate to go up a waterfall. Maybe this was a Zora rite of passage- he knew when he was younger, he’d been desperate to duel with soldiers, but everyone had laughed at him because he was so young. Perhaps this was the same for them. And who was he kidding- he just couldn’t say no. Especially to food children. And he couldn’t deny a small part of him was intrigued as to what the Zora Armour looked like after all. It was the last one he had yet to collect, having received the Greaves from who he now knew was the king, and the Helm from when Mipha had been recruited. So, even though he felt like it was probably not the right thing to do, he agreed, the reckless and hungry side won out. “One ride up the waterfall. And then we return the Armour.”
A series of exclamations and happy cries of “YES! LET’S GO!” rang out through the Domain.
[One final fic from a write-off, this one was from a tournament back in March though this one shot was technically done on April 7th 2021. Once again, this isn’t edited and most likely won’t be posted anywhere else. I hope you enjoy this ^u^]
Warning(s): None, maybe crack treated seriously
Prompt: amnesic wild being raised by good monster parents
“Hey, what’s the hurry? Something nearby?”
The sounds of leaves blowing in the breeze and birds chirping a morning greeting woke them all up that morning. It wasn’t the worst wake-up call, but it was a startling contrast from where they had been the night before. Wild was the one to immediately recognize the area they were in, practically rushing through making breakfast and passing it out.
Wild shrugged, an excited grin on his face.
“You could say that. C’mon, hurry up!”
Twilight chuckled, finishing off the meal. As the group packed up their bedrolls and items, Wild fidgeted by the treeline, antsy to get moving. It took only a minute or two and Wild was leading the way past the trees and one of the glowing shrines that were scattered throughout his land. Twilight had only looked away for a second, watching the sun climb into the sky with brilliant reds and oranges, only for Wild to sprint away the second he looked back.
“Cub! Wait up!”
“Dammit Wild!”
The hero just laughed, easily scaling a small cliff and shrieking with delight once he had made it up. Twilight only hesitated a second and then he was struggling to climb up as well, Legend and Hyrule not far behind. He only peeked his head over the edge and then ducked down.
“I’m dreaming. I have to be dreaming.”
“What’s got you so spooked, wolf boy?” Legend asked with confusion, though his question was soon answered, “Oh… yeah, that’s probably up there on my list of strangest things I’ve ever seen.”
Wild was sitting down under a small overhang, a campfire alight with skewered fish propped up around it. But sitting beside Wild was a rather large Lynel with a snow-white mane, peacefully sitting and watching with amusement as Legend and Hyrule stared unbelieving at the scene. Of course, it was around this time that the rest of the group walked the rest of the way up the hill to witness… whatever this was.
“Hey, uh… Wild?”
Said hero turned towards Time, the elder hero looking rather concerned if not about ready to unsheath his sword at a moment’s notice. Wild then understood the confused and concerned faces of the rest of the group.
“Oh, I guess I never actually talked about the very beginning of my quest,” Wild rubbed the back of his head, sheepishly, “Whoops.”
The Lynel rumbled, shaking their head and nudging Wild slightly.
“Talk Cub.”
“I’m getting to it,” Wild stood then, sighing dramatically, not at all acknowledging the fact that holy golden goddesses the Lynel could speak! “Everyone, this is Alex. They were the first one I met that didn’t try to kill me immediately.”
Alex shook their head again, grabbing Wild and sitting him back down at their side.
“Bad at explaining. My turn now,” they spoke, looking out at the group, including the three that finally decided to climb up the rest of the way up the cliff and sit near the edge. They rumbled out a laugh then looked upwards for a moment.
“Cub was being chased by bokos into my territory, wounded and dirty. Old Hylian never showed to help, so I did. Cub was knocked down, the bokos were about to kill, but I scared them off,” Alex laughed at the thought, pulling Wild closer, though he made a protesting noise, “Cub had never seen me before, was scared at the noise but tried to scare back, like a cub.”
“Listen,” Wild pushed at the muscular arm holding him captive, a few of the heroes starting to laugh at the futile attempt, “You roared first! What else was I supposed to do!”
“Run maybe?” Legend piped up, only for Hyrule to push him.
“Shut up, it’s storytime.”
“Fae is right,” Alex nodded, playfully glaring at the Veteran, “tell your story next, pink one.”
Legend made an offended noise, only to be silenced by Twilight wrapping a hand over his mouth.
“Old Hylian never came to help, Cub stayed where he was. I started to get worried. Cubs don’t last long alone, so I helped. Took him to a safe place and started caring for him, taught him basics of hunting and healing,” Alex again laughed, rubbing a hand over Wild’s head and messing up his hair, “Reckless Cub, leaving for so long.”
“Hey! I’m sorry okay!” Wild shouted, trying to escape the paw on his head with little success, though he looked happy rather than upset.
“Wait, so are all Lynels nice here then?” Sky asked, only for Wild and Alex to shake their heads, stopping their fooling around.
“Cub was lucky to find me, few others would see him as harmless.”
“I had just woken up when I found Alex, I didn’t know much of anything besides my name,” Wild leaned back into Alex’s side then, a fond smile on his face, “The Old Hylian was the ghost of the King but… I’m glad that I barely interacted with him.”
“I take it you remembered him then,” Time spoke up.
“Yeah, I always came back here after I regained a memory. Alex was always willing to just be there for me when I wasn’t ready to talk to Sidon or Impa or anyone.”
“And I’ll always be here for you, Cub.”
Alex smiled, holding Wild close. It was sweet, especially if you looked past Alex’s semi-threatening appearance. The rest of the group seemed satisfied that they wouldn’t be harmed by Alex either, lowering their guard and moving closer to the pair by the fire.
“Now then,” Alex spoke up once everyone was nearer, smiling with a fanged grin as their sharp green eyes locked onto Legend, “the pink one has a story to tell.”
“No, I don’t! I’m sorry I interrupted you!” Legend pleaded, Warriors already nudging him to start telling a story already, Wind joining in as the rest laughed.
“Now you know better, pink cub.”
“Wait, cub?” Twilight questioned, “I thought Wild was Cub.”
“All my cubs now,” Alex looked fond, a rumbling almost purring sound followed their words, “all of you are cubs, close to my cub makes you my cubs too.”
Did Kohga get that new paddle he wanted for Christmas? And could we see Sooga using the new gift on him? 😏
Bit late of an ask, but let's do it! (Of course he got it, Kohga gets ANYTHING he wants)
"Watch your step, please!"
Drunk Kohga was a fucking vagrant. He was loud, he was frisky, he uncouth. How Sooga got him to his room was a mystery. Sooga tried to put him into bed, only for Kohga to laugh as he clung to his body.
"Noooo! You took me out of the party too early!"
"You were doing belly button shots with Urbosa?"
"Hey, gay doesn't mean I can't have a good time. Tried it with Daruk, didn't fucking work. Sidon doesn't have a belly button. OH BUT LINK DOES-SOOGA LETS GO!"
Sooga pushed him back into bed as Kohga tried to leave.
"You need to rest."
"I'm not tiiiired!!!"
This was exactly why Sooga hated it when Kohga hosted parties. Always went off the deep on. Sooga sighed, standing there.
"What will it take for you to sleep?"
Kohga giggled, lightly clapping.
"In my drawer, there's a present. Open it."
Sooga pulled out a rather nicely wrapped gift, turning it over for him to look at it.
"You...got me another gift?"
"Nope, it's mine. But you get to open it for me. And you totally get to play with my new toy WITH me!"
Sooga unwrapped it, and pulled out his new 'toy'. A rather big, wooden one, covered in little heart shaped holes. Sooga held it by the handle, getting a feel for it.
"You got this custom made didn't you?"
"Oh absolutely. It was a rupee and a half- made from mahogany. Real hard shit. The heart was for you though, since you like that cute shit. Now, how much convincing is it gonna take for you to-"
"None. You promised you'd go to bed. You hold your end, I'll hold mine."
Kohga looked him up and down, before barking in laughter.
"Sooga! You sexy devil you! I'm liking the attitude!"
"You are. SO drunk right now."
"Oh, I'm fucking PLASTERED. Now, spank me, because I've been bad-"
He burped into his hand right after, and Sooga tried not to laugh. Oh, he loved this man. He made the motion for him to roll over to his stomach, and Kohga obeyed, hugging one of his pillows in excitement. Sooga crawled over him, putting his lips right to his ear.
"If you need to use the safeword, do be loud. I need to be able to hear you over this."
Sooga SMACKED the paddle against the dresser next to them, making such a loud sound, Kohga squealed in absolute delight.
"Sooga! You beautiful bastard- stop TEASING! You're being SO fucking mean!!"
They shared a quick kiss (holy shit his breath could light a candle), before Sooga got off of him. He let him sit there anxiously, till Kohga swayed his butt for him, ever so slightly. He liked how he begged. But Sooga wasn't so cruel. So, he lifted his paddle, and struck his ass. Oh it was a loud sound, it resonated in their room. Kohga turned to meet his gaze, giving him such a smirk.
"I said SPANK me, you PUSSY."
"Alright. You don't want a gentleman, I can stop being a gentleman."
Sooga put his hand on his head, keeping him pinned down, before lifting his paddle, and spanking him.
Once. Twice. Three. Four. Five. Six.
He stopped at the sixth one, seeing how his poor Kohga was already a drooling, panting, heart eyed mess. Then Sooga pulled down those pesky clothes, and did it again.
Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve.
"Shit shit shit Sooga!!"
He knew his cock was absolutely smothered by his sheets, and that his Master was REALLY liking this.
"Touch yourself. I know you want to."
Kohga listened, pumping his cock till it was absolutely lathered in precum.
Thirteen. Fourteen. Fifteen. Sixteen. Seventeen. Eighteen. Nineteen.
"Already close? I've BARELY started with you? You look ready to do anything I say, just because you want more."
Kohga nodded in agreement, trying to keep himself from drooling, but was failing tremendously.
"I w-would, I absolutely fucking would-!"
"Alright then. Cum. And say thank you."
Twenty. Twenty one. Twenty two. Twenty three.
"S-shit Sooga, I'm gonna-"
"Say. Thank. You."
Twenty four. Twenty five. Twenty six.
"Thank you! Thank you Thank you-!!"
And with that, those sheets were stained with all that cum. He didn't even care that he laid in it as he finished, panting and sweating in poor exhaustion. Sooga leaned in to kiss his cheek before wrapping him in his sheet.
"Merry Christmas, Master Kohga~"
Love Across Time Ch.6 (A SidLink Story)
Chapter 6: Secret Relationship
“What in the world is going on Sidon,” Mipha asked in a hushed tone as they followed the princess and Link towards the troops camp. “One moment he was screaming in confusion, then he's clinging to you. And now he won't even look at you.”
Sidon looked up at the back of Link's head. That morning hadn't been an exact of when Link had woken up.
He seemed more comfortable with him but they were nowhere near to what he and the other Link had in the...past?
It was all confusing.
Upon agreement the two decided for now that any interactions such as what had happened between either Link's had to remain between the two of them but also had to remain behind closed doors, away from prying eyes.
No doubt there was...some sort of spark between them right now. Sidon was still confused but he couldn't deny how he felt.
Link was still unsure of how to feel about the situation but here was another thing they had to watch out for. Zelda was keen on keeping everyone's mind on the mission at hand, which should have been but this was unexpected.
Though Sidon was sure deep down it was another thing. Sidon was sure that the princess had her eyes set on the hylian. She had accepted it in his own life time but here he wasn't so sure about how she felt right now about Link.
But even though they had tried to keep this whole situation quiet, Mipha had caught them sleeping next to one another like that in the bed.
Now ever since they had started on their journey to discuss battle plans, Mipha had held him back and would not stop asking questions.
Though of any person he wanted to catch them he was glad it was Mipha and not really anyone else. She was really the only one that understood his situation. Then again Sidon was sure she still didn't understand the full situation and still had some brewing feelings under the surface. He was sure out of respect for Sidon mourning she kept them to herself.
They had no idea how he and the other champions from the future had come into the past like they had. But each had their same story.
There had been a meeting earlier between himself, Teba, Yunobo, as well as Riju. Each one of them told they had been somewhere and a portal had suddenly opened up, showing them a champion that was nearly about to fall.
Thankfully they had showed up when they had. They had no idea if they would be going home after all of this or how they got there but they all knew the same thing. They all knew they had to protect the champions.
When it came to an emotional connection they all seemed to have one. Each one either related or had a large amount of respect for.
It was an honor to protect them.
So for Mipha to try to figure out his relationship with this Link in the past, Sidon wouldn't blame her for trying to not figure it out.
Her heart was in the right place but some things were just left behind for the moment and they had to focus on other things.
“I can't even begin to describe what is happening,” Sidon said to her, his hands clasped behind his back as the tridents clinked against his palms, choosing his words carefully. “We have more important things to think about right now.”
Who knew if Zelda was listening in on what was going on behind her. She was silent but Hylian hearing was quite excellent.
“Well yes I agree,” Mipha said to him, watching as Sidon's gold eyes flicked from Zelda to Link. “But what if this is all connected?
“Connected?” Sidon asked, glancing down at her. She clutched at the handle of her trident a bit and then sighed.
“I'm not sure, but I think everything that is going on is connected some how,” she said. Sidon went silent next to her.
What if it was? That Link's spirt had come with Sidon when he had gone through the portal and had found his “host”.
Deep down Sidon really knew that this was wrong. While he wanted to be with Link he knew that this Link didn't feel like that towards him in the same way. It hurt but he had to keep reminding himself that he needed to move on.
Considering what happened right before he had jumped through the portal he knew he was either not going to move on or have a very hard time.
He had to talk to his Link's spirit again and ask, that is if he ever was able to show himself to him once again.
“We will discuss that later,” Sidon told her. Perhaps Mipha would be one he could trust. He did feel bad that he was dumping all of this on her when he knew her feelings had been for Link. This was all just so confusing and he wish he didn't have to deal with these feelings while they were trying to stop the calamity from happening.
They had prevented the champions from falling but there was still one more thing. They had to stop Ganon from resurrecting and Link falling to him.
They arrived in the central hall, a large table set out for them once again. Sidon took his seat at the table with Mipha, the other champions already waiting.
Link stood at the front of the table with Zelda as she waited for them to quiet down before she could address them.
“Thank you all for meeting me here this afternoon,” Zelda said. “I wanted to discuss the plans for our next plan of action. We are to attack the Yiga Clan's hideout.”
Sidon snorted a bit which he quickly covered with a cough, Mipha elbowing him under the table. He winced but kept his hand to his mouth.
“The Yiga clan? Aren't they the bananna obsessed goons that popped up once in a blue moon?” Teba asked, crossing his arms. “What sort of threat do they even have against us for us to bring so many troops to the desert?”
“Goons? I dare say they are very much a threat,” Urbosa said with a small frown but then looked down at Riju who was holding in some giggles.
Zelda pinched the bridge of her nose. “They are very dangerous in this time. What sort of thing happened in the future?”
“They are barely around and we all learned how to handle them,” Yunobo chimed in, flinching a bit when Zelda turned her eyes to him.
“Do enlighten us,” She huffed at them.
“Bananas,” Sidon said. “Li-A close friend of mine had told me in his adventures that a good way to distract them is with that fruit. We don't see them as much of a threat if they can be distracted with something so simple.”
The room went silent, the only sound was Riju's giggles which Urbosa as trying to tell her to settle down, though a smile played on her lips as well.
“This is no laughing matter,” Zelda snapped. “Their forces are making things very difficult for us. We must attack them and soon. We leave for the desert tommorow morning.”
Riju's giggling stopped and she wilted in her seat, her hand resting on Patricia's head that sat next to her. Urbosa rest her hand on her back, soothing the young girl.
Sidon scowled. This was not the soft gentle princess that he had come to know in his own time. She seemed cold and obsessed with the fighting.
“Tommorow morning? That is so soon,” Sidon said. They barely had a few days of rest. “Link....and everyone else needs more rest.”
“And we need to take this opprotunity as soon as possible,” Zelda said to him. “We have to strike when they least expect it.”
“But he-”
“I don't know why you are so concerned about Link, but he is fine, “ Zelda said with a small hiss in her voice as she crossed her arms.
Sidon's hands clenched under the table, risking baring his sharp teeth at her until he saw the blue eyes gazing at him from Link.
His eyes were soft and understanding but it was enough to calm Sidon down.
“Princess,” Link said, his hand coming to rest against her shoulder. She calmed down right away, looking to him with scared sad eyes.
Perhaps this was what she was truly like on the inside and putting up this harsh front because she was scared.
With how things had turned out from Sidon's own timeline he didn't quite blame her. He just wished she had more compassion.
“This has nothing to do with anything personal with me princess,” Link told her, looking at the amount of eyes on him. “He is using me as an example because I had passed out recently. He is just as concerned for his sister as he is for the rest of our men and women fighting with us in this battle right now.”
“That is right. As well for your well being princess,” Sidon said to her, trying to coax her down out of her bitterness. “I know this is important. This is very important and involves all of us for the well being of our country.”
“Perhaps we can come up with a compromise?” Mipha asked from next to him. “A way for us to move forward with our plan but still gain some rest?”
“I do think that is possible,” Urbosa said as she rose from the table, locking eyes with Zelda. The princess relaxed even more.
“What do you propose?” she asked.
“I know you had wanted to use the slate and the towers to travel directly to the desert. While it helps us with time it does not help with rest,” Urbosa stated.
“Perhaps traveling by horse and carriage will be adequate. It will take several days to be able to get to the desert from here,” Daruk offered.
“We do need to make sure we have a safe travel with everyone,” Revali stated. “We have Zoras and Gorons as well as my people. While you hylians adapt to most climates, it is harder for the rest of us to do so.”
“So we need to go in with a plan of travel to bring the troops and make sure that everyone is comfortable but can get the rest that we need,” Teba added to him.
There were mumbles across the table in agreement. Zelda rest her chin against her hand as she looked out at them.
“To be fair princess we haven't really tested the travel with the slate and the towers just yet,” Link said softly to her. “This gurantees they get the rest they need, and we won't risk losing anyone when it comes to that way of travel. We can talk to Purah too as well so that we can make sure that the next time we want to try to travel by slate it'll be like fool prrof.”
Zelda looked to him and then nodded her head a little bit.
“Alright. I'll map out a route for us and we can discuss it all when I'm done to make sure that it is suitable for each race,” Zelda agreed. “You are all dismissed.”
Sidon let out a sigh as he relaxed into his chair, looking to Mipha who frowned at him with a small sigh.
“What?” he asked with a whisper.
“Real smooth Sidon,” she said with a small smile coming to her. “Try not to seem so only Link centered while talking to her.”
She did have a point.
Hi! I love ur work ! How about a head canon of Revali, Sidon and Link were they make they s/o cry. Like they were fighting or they said something that hurt their feelings.
*I spy with my little eye, one of my guilty pleasure tropes*
Everytime someone says they like my writing I go through two stages; 1. Shocked disbelief 2. Going into a fit of happy child giggling.
Seriously, to everyone who takes the time to read my stuff; TYSM!!
Okay enough gushing, ya’ll came for a head canons!
Characters are ordered from most to least likely to make you cry.
Revali:
I think we all saw this coming.
Best Rito isn’t known as an asshole for nothing, so obviously he topped this list.
(Hey, first time he ever beat Link at something)
It’s normal for you two to bicker
But there’s one time where it got way out of hand
Now when Revali’s angry, he shoots words out like a machine gun: they’re quick, painful and accurate
(Good luck getting a word in edgewise)
His comments eventually drive you to tears
UNFORTUNATELY, Featherhead here is a hothead
Will be too caught up in the moment
“Oh there’s no need to act childish Y/N,” There’s a mocking bite in his tone “enough with the crocodile tears.”
When you continue sobbing, his anger starts melting away to guilt
Suddenly he’s very aware of what he’s said
He done fucked up
He’s at a loss for what to do
Will mumble something about training and take off, leaving you alone for the rest of the day
(It’s not that he doesn’t care, he’s just worried that he’ll make things worse right now)
Eventually you cry yourself to sleep in the same spot from that afternoon
You wake up the next morning wrapped in a bundle of blankets inside your hammock
Once you’ve managed to untangled yourself, you spot Revali nearby preparing breakfast
He glances up when he hears you approach
Nervously, he slides some fresh cooked omelettes onto a plate and hands it to you without a word
His face looked like he was worried you’d to eat him instead
(And not in the good way)
You both spend a good minute staring at each other, trying to figure out what to say
Revali decides to break the silence first
“I took some time to to reflect on last night’s events. I realize that I......may have gone too far.”
“No shit.” Sadness had morphed into anger overnight. If he wanted your forgiveness, he’ll need to say a lot more than that
Instead of the usual snippy retort, Revali nods “I suppose I earned that”
...Well that’s not the response you were expecting
Apparently he paid a visit to Zelda last night to discuss her recent friendship with Link.
He wanted to know how she managed to resolve things between them.
Throughout his explanation, his gaze remained trained on the wooden floor
His feathers begin to fluff up when you don’t respond right away
“I have many talents y/n, but this isn’t one of them. I have little experience in romantic relationships, along with the difficulties that come with it”
“However,” He finally meets your gaze. “I wish to learn. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to do my upmost to work on...this.” He gestures between you and him with his wing “What happened last night... I swear that it will never reach that point again.”
And if you allow him to, Revali will make good on his word
Link:
This guy’s mastered the silent treatment
Link’s a quiet guy so he tends to become distanced when he’s angry, rather then yell it all out
You learn this the hard way after a particularly bad argument with him
Suddenly, he’s acting colder than an ice talus
No matter what you say, the only response you’ll get is a dismissive grunt
This goes on for days
The dude is surprisingly good at holding a grudge
However, one night he returns home late and hears faint weeping
He sneaks upstairs and finds you with your back turned to him while you quietly cry yourself to sleep
His heart nearly cracks in two once he catches a glimpse of your tear-stained face
Will quickly leave before he can get caught
Conversations aren’t his thing, and the situation required more than a simple apology
One thing is clear though; he needed to make amends.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s a note on your pillow the next morning
Inside it is your boyfriends handwriting, apologizing for his behaviour
Will proceed to list everything he loves about you, from the general things to your little quirks; everything he never says out loud
You did’t even realize you did half of these things
But Link did
And he loves all of it
At the bottom, he makes you a promise to make up for the last few days
Downstairs, Link’s prepared your favourite dishes
Any of his recent cold behaviour is nowhere to be found
During breakfast, he lets you know that he’s taken the weekend off to spend time with you
That weekend feels like heaven
What Link lacks in words, he makes up for action
Will insist on doing your share of chores, takes you horseback riding for a picnic, he even shows you his secret spot for stargazing
You both take the time to enjoy each others company
By the end of it, the argument is nothing more than a distant memory
Sidon:
It-it honestly hurts my brain to imagine this soft boi being angry
Like, no.
He baby.
It will take a LOT to make Sidon lose his temper
Even then, it’s probably over something like your safety
For example, if you have a habit of recklessly running into danger with no regard for your own safety like a certain Hylian
Sidon will try to bring up his concerns with you. Multiple times.
You just wave it off every time
The constant dismissing eventually causes him to snap
He won’t do anything big, maybe just raise his voice or shout in frustration
“Would you please LISTEN TO ME!?”
(Bruh, even when he’s angry he’s polite)
Unfortunately, Sidon is also an 8ft. shark with a booming voice
You know he’d never actually lay a claw on you. He was a gentle lover (No, not like that you naughty sinners)
However; when you hear the natural growl in his voice, and baring his fangs in irritation-
In that that moment, you’re terrified to the point that tears start sliding down your cheeks. You don’t even notice them as they fall
But Sidon does
Poor baby is crushed
Will immediately crouch down and gently gather you up in his arms
He tries to make his voice as soft as possible, cooing words into your ear in an effort to put at ease
“Shh, shh - please don’t cry darling. I am so sorry, I don’t know what came over me.” He rubs small circles on your back to help calm you down. “I swear that won’t happen again.”
Great, now he’s crying too.
(You might actually need to comfort him now too)
Once you’ve both calmed down, you try talking things out again.
This time, you take his worries about you more seriously
(Seriously, where’s Sidons’ official Disney prince title?)
(Get on that Disney)

YOU KNOW NOT WHAT YOU ASK FOR
Because OKAY
OKAY
LISTEN
HERE IS WHAT CANONICALLY HAPPENS IN ZORA’S DOMAIN. You get close. Zoras keep telling you that Prince Sidon is looking for a Hylian’s aid. NOTE. PRINCE SIDON. Not King Dorephan. Not Zora’s Domain. Prince Sidon. We’re just gonna keep that in our little brains for now.
We meet Sidon at the bridge. He is very polite, and sends us on our eay. I need to review that scene but for now it’s not terribly important. We get to Zora’s Domain, and we meet the regular people, who know it wasn’t Link’s fault, and the old geezers, who got a nasty case of misplaced trauma guilt goin’ on maskin’ as racism, hate him. But they are also ADAMANTLY turning away hylian aid with disgust. At least one of them is a Councilman, Muzu. Keep this in your brains too
We meet King Dorephan, and it’s apparent that he was not in on Sidon’s plan to get aid from a Hylian. He seems aware of it, “the Hylian the prince was looking for,” something like that, but either is hiding his participation, or was not participating at all. If Dorephan was sending out for help, we don’t see it. My guess is with the reservoir flooding, he had enough on his hands just trying to put out fires as they sprang up.
This was Sidon’s plan. Sidon’s plan was to get the aid of a hylian, who are more immune to electricity, and he was doing this against the opinions of the elders, and at least one councilman. I suspect the other elders we see are also councilmembers, but I can’t confirm it. At most, he had Dorephan’s blessing, but at worst, he was doing this against the council and probably because his father’s hands were tied with a council full of old geezers turning away aid but disobeying them would probably look like tyranny.
But a royal who can more easily get away with this plan? A prince.
Sidon is so convicted or at least so damn fed up that he is going against the elders, possibly against a council, to get help for his kingdom. That takes a lot of guts. That takes conviction. This is not a wishy-washy prince, this is not a dumb prince, this is a prince who has taken on the mantle of leading and protecting his domain.
And he is compassionate enough, like his father, to understand that Link wasn’t at fault. He and his father, if anyone had the right to be angry about Mipha dying, it’s those two. But they’re not. They both treat Link with kindness and in Sidon’s case, endless advocacy. Even after Muzu’s outburst, he treats him kindly, if firmly. He even talks to Link about understanding why they harbor such feelings, even if they’re unfair to Link. He is the ideal prince, protector of the realm and tireless advocate.
Something that he clearly puts great effort into, while his sister exuded it effortlessly. Sidon is working the whole time you’re doing the quest and then going after Vah Ruta. He swims right into battle with you against the thing that took his sister’s life.
Imagine your sibling dying in a particular building—one that looms over your city for as long as you can remember. Do you think you’d have the stomach to even approach it? Maybe you would. Maybe you wouldn’t. I still haven’t been to the place my sister died. It’s a half-hour away.
A reminder that Sidon was a child when she died. I’d say he’s roughly the equivalent of a toddler. He was a toddler when the title of crown royal came to him, and he would have to assume the real training to be king one day, take on the duties of his sister. Dealing with a father forever scarred by the loss of his child, dealing with his own trauma and grief that he’s probably had to stomach down for a century to do his job and do what’s right, all in the shadow of his peerless, graceful sibling who, almost perfect in life, was now perfect in death to the domain. Who could match her skill with her trident? Who could be so easily loving and courageous and strong?
How could a grieving, heart-broken toddler with his childhood ripped away from him compare to that?
There’s aspects of his characterization after this that would entirely be my own speculation and spin on him, such as attempting to fill the space Mipha left behind, seen in how diligently he tries to tell Link how incredible he is, how wonderful and amazing—perhaps also because he never got to tell those things to Mipha, and now will never get his chance. I see him as a prince who looks endlessly enthusiastic—and he is, in a way. But stretches himself thin, pushing himself harder than he should both to fill the gaps left behind by his sister and perhaps, though he’d never admit it, crawl out of them himself. He puts on a brave, strong face, for his father, for his people, for Mipha, and for himself. But it tears at his soul in death by a thousand cuts, a little at a time, every time he can only see his own shortcomings and failures and inability to fill the shoes his sister left behind.
I would not say he is tormented, or that it’s all fake; far from it, I think he genuinely believes not only in Link’s abilities but the abilities of everyone around him. But I believe he aches. An old bruise that’s easy enough to ignore most of the time and healing slowly. But it lingers, aching whenever he thinks he comes up short, pun intended. Reminding him that he is not Mipha. Reminding him that when his father looks at him he no doubt causes him pain, to resemble Mipha. Dorephan is a loving, supportive father, but even the most loving will be different after the loss of their child. Nothing will bring back the days that Sidon probably remembers faintly. And that is, itself, a grief that Sidon is, has, or will have to come to terms with. Your parent cannot be the same parent after the loss of your sibling, and your life will forever become Before Their Death and After Their Death. His father loves him, but grief paints them both. Their love as father and son is forever changed with her death. Each has a hole that neither can fill—and both of them know that. It does not lessen their love; but it remains incomplete.
He has well-earned his fan club, but not for his hot bod.
And no I wouldn’t ship him with Link because yes falling in love with your dead fiancee’s sibling happens irl but like I said before if one of my own dead sister’s old boyfriends came back from the dead and was crushing on me I’d be out of there in a heartbeat, GOODBYE. It’s a perfectly fine ship BUT I GOT MY OWN BAGGAGE OKAY.
Maybe Bazz. Or Yunobo. Or Kass and Teba if they’re down for some polycules. Link and Sidon can be good-but-slightly-awkward-bros.

“...so, if you do decide that you’ll be writing a thesis in lieu of the comprehensive examination, I’ll be the one you’ll need to speak with.”
Zelda scribbled furiously in her notebook as Dr. Kaneli continued to speak, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose every few minutes like clockwork. He’d come to Dr. Teba’s diagnostics lecture that morning to speak about research opportunities, accompanied by several of his current research assistants.
“No need to decide right this moment, of course,” he said, “but we will be needing your name and thesis topic by the end of your first year if you do select that track.”
Thesis by end year one, she scrawled onto the paper.
God, a thesis. She’d dreamt of this moment.
Had Zelda ever wanted anything more than to write a thesis? What greater pleasure was there than to delve so completely into research that you know every facet of it like you know the letters of your own name? The plethora of potential opportunities was exhilarating, her mind running rampant at the very notion of selecting one.
A hand suddenly covered hers, causing her pen to scratch to a halt.
She glanced up to see Link staring at her, an eyebrow cocked in her direction.
“What?” She whispered, “I’m taking notes.”
‘Just listen,’ he signed, ‘You don’t have to write down every word he says.’
She felt a smile tug at her lips as she rolled her eyes. “We’ll see who’s coming to who with questions in a few weeks.”
Link grinned brightly, waving a hand at her in dismissal.
“My personal field is neurological disorders,” Kaneli explained, recapturing Zelda’s undivided attention, “and if you have any interest in my research, do let me know. I am always in need of hardworking graduate assistants. It’s not easy work, mind you, but we do have fun.”
The professor then paused to smile at a young man seated amongst the other second year students In the front row.
“I’m sure you can attest to that, Mr. Medoh,” he teased cheerily. A few of the others around him chuckled lightly.
From where she and Link were sitting in the lecture hall, it was impossible to see his face. Even when craning her neck a bit, Zelda could only glimpse locks of raven hair that dusted the man’s shoulders, several strands pleated into delicate braids while some was piled atop his head in a haphazard bun.
Medoh, she wrote hastily in the margins.
Link tapped the table to get her attention before furrowing his brow and asking, ‘Why?’.
She shrugged. “Might be good to have second year connections. And quit reading over my shoulder.”
Link’s face took on a sly expression as he eyed her curiously. With two fingers, he gestured a circle around his face before pointing to the man in the first row.
“Handsome?” Zelda scoffed, “How can I think that he’s handsome when I can’t even see him? You hush.”
He waggled his brows at her. ‘I’m not talking,’ he signed.
“You know what I mean,” she said. “You can make that joke all you want and it still won’t be funny.”
“Ah, does someone there in the back have a question?”
Zelda’s face prickled hot as nearly everyone in the room swiveled around to look at her. She froze, damning her immoveable tongue for not immediately coming to her rescue with a response. She barely heard Link sniggering beside her as she stared blankly at Dr. Kaneli, an expectant look on his face.
Her gaze was drawn downward to a pair of green eyes staring up from beneath thick, dark lashes.
The young man that Kaneli had called Mr. Medoh was now looking directly at her, incredulity marring his brow. His sharp, almost bird-like features gave him a stern appearance, the strong cut of his jaw curtained by wisps of hair. The striking emerald of his irises was offset by the deep, rich tone of his bronzed skin.
Oh. He was handsome.
Someone cleared their throat.
“Ms. Farore,” Dr. Teba prompted from his seat in the corner, “did you have a question or didn’t you?”
“Oh, no. Uh, sir. No, sir,” she stammered, “I didn’t...um, no. Sorry.”
Teba pursed his lips and hummed his disapproval, but said nothing more. He instead encouraged Kaneli to continue, apologizing for the interruption. Zelda’s pulse thundered in her ears as she caught a hint of a smirk on the dark-haired man’s face just before he turned back around.
She wanted to die.
And, maybe, smack Link.
The remainder of the lecture went quickly, though Zelda registered only a quarter of anything that was said. She still felt hot with humiliation, her embarrassment taking the uncomfortable form of sweat; she could think only of how badly she wished she had a stick of deodorant and a new blouse.
When Kaneli and Teba finally concluded and announced dismissal, Zelda slumped down into her chair and covered her face with her hands. She sat amidst the shuffling of papers and zipping of book bags, letting the rest of the class file out until she and Link were the only two left in the large hall.
When she finally peeked through her fingers at Link, she saw him looking just as remorseful as he could, signing ‘sorry’ on his chest.
Zelda sighed. “Oh, don’t look at me that way. I’ve already forgiven you, you know that.”
He beamed at her, and she suddenly remembered why it was impossible to ever be cross with him in any capacity. He stacked his fists then, twisting one atop the other as he raised his brows in question.
“Yeah, coffee sounds good. You’re buying.”
_
The Café Bar was bustling with students just being released from class, flocking in from outside to escape the chilly October air and scrambling for a place in line. Others stood idly by and scouted for empty tables, often to no avail. Though there were several places to go for coffee on campus, the little, locally-owned coffee shop that sat just near the university was by far the most popular.
The gentle hiss of milk being steamed and the pleasant gurgle of fresh coffee brewing could just be heard above the sound of light jazz mingling with idle chatter. Cups and saucers clinked as they were cleared from tables. Zelda inhaled deeply, the comforting scent of espresso a welcome respite.
“I have a vanilla latte with extra whip on the bar!”
She nudged Link with her elbow to get his attention. They had managed to procure their favorite spot; a small circular table over by the large bay window that sidled right up to the window seat. He looked up from his phone.
“That’s you,” she said. He nodded and stood with a smile, lightly touching her shoulder and giving it an affectionate squeeze as he slipped behind her. Zelda smiled to herself before returning to the article that she’d been perusing, a clinical research study on the affects of naturalistic treatment protocols on aphasic patients. She’d not even read five words when she heard her name being softly called from across the café.
“Zelda, over here.”
A petite, red-headed young woman came striding towards her, her arms piled with books. Zelda hopped up from her chair to lighten her load, carefully taking a few of the books off of the top.
“Oh, Mipha, let me help you. Where’s your--wait, here, set them on the table.”
She thanked her profusely as she plunked the remaining books on the tiny table, making it wobble sadly on its narrow legs. She slid onto the window seat, shrugging her blue sweater from her shoulders. Her cheeks were a pretty, wind-bitten pink as she smiled warmly, releasing a sigh of relief.
“I thought you’d already gone home,” Zelda said, “And what are all of these for?”
“Oh, these are my textbooks for this semester. I’ve just been to the bookstore to pick them up,” she explained. She screwed up her face. “They didn’t have the one I need for my biochem class, though. I preordered that one, too.”
“You need all of these?” Zelda asked, brows raised in awe as she mentally tallied the books.
Mipha nodded resignedly. “Yes, all of them. That’s what I get for deciding to get my master’s in marine biology, I suppose. I’m on my way to the apartment, but I thought I’d stop and grab a latte or so—” she paused, copper eyes shifting their attention from Zelda’s face to just behind her. “Oh, Link, hello.”
Link nodded cheerfully at Mipha with a mug in one hand and a plate holding the largest muffin that Zelda had ever seen in the other. She kicked out his chair for him with her foot and he sat, gingerly placing his coffee on the table. He signed ‘thank you’ with his free hand, the other still absentmindedly clutching the plate as his eyes swept the café. Mipha and Zelda gave one another a quick, knowing look.
“Sidon’s still at the rec with Bazz,” Mipha mentioned, a smile in her voice, “He told me to tell you ‘hi’, though.”
Zelda watched Link’s jaw visibly clench as he sucked in a breath through his nose.
‘He did?’
Mipha nodded.
Link bit the inside of his cheek, and then quickly shrugged and focused his attention on making a dent in the mountain of whipped cream on his coffee.
‘That’s cool,’ he told her, ‘Tell him hey, I guess.’
The redhead turned to Zelda for a translation; she was with the two of them so frequently now that she’d been able to pick up quite a bit of ASL, but still needed occasional help. Zelda found that Link was particularly difficult to understand when the subject of conversation was Sidon, simply because his hands moved twice their normal speed.
“He said to tell Sidon that he’s the most handsome man he’s ever seen and that he’d love to go on a date sometime,” Zelda answered casually, unlocking her phone to open up her article again.
Link nearly choked on a piece of muffin.
“I have an americano with cream on the bar!”
“Be right back,” Zelda chimed as she got up to get her drink, looking back briefly to see Link signing ‘wrong’ on his chin repeatedly. She chuckled inwardly and turned back around, only to collide with an oddly familiar looking green cardigan.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” she said, backing up, “That’s my fault. I wasn’t even paying attention.”
“Evidently not.”
Zelda’s eyes flicked up at the foreign voice, her heart leaping into her throat as she realized with whom she was speaking.
Oh, shit.
Handsome braids guy.
“Uh, hi. Again,” she muttered, hopelessly lost for anything else to say.
He gave her a queer look. “Again?”
“Um. I mean, yeah. You were just in Dr. Teba’s lecture? You came with Dr. Kaneli. For the, uh, research. Thing.”
The corner of the young man’s mouth quirked up ever so slightly as he tucked a strand of hair behind his ear. “Right. You didn’t have a question.”
Zelda felt her cheeks burn at the very mention of the incident, her chest tightening at the memory. The man raised a brow at her, an irritatingly amused expression on his face. She felt her eye twitch.
“Yes, well. If you’ll excuse me. Sorry, ag--”
A barista interrupted.
“Americano with cream to-go!”
Green cardigan stepped up to the bar to accept the coffee, thanking the woman who’d handed it off with an actual smile. Zelda watched him, dumbfounded, as he hoisted his messenger bag up onto his shoulder and glanced in her direction for a fraction of a second before heading for the door.
“Wait!”
The words had flown out of her mouth before she’d even had time to register them. Perfectly annoyed, he stopped to turn and face her, his eyes on her in silent query.
“About Dr. Kaneli’s research lab,” she began, “are there still spots open for new assistants right now?”
His demeanor changed at the question and he adopted a defensive, almost territorial stance. He studied her closely, eyeing her with an uncomfortable thoroughness; as though he were sizing up a rival.
“Yes,” he drawled, “Why?”
“I’d like to apply,” she responded, maybe too quickly.
He sucked his teeth. “Interesting. Well, come by the office at the clinic if you want an application. They’re due in a week.”
Zelda grinned, nodding excitedly. “Oh, that’s excellent. I’ll definitely be by, then. Thank you, um...” she paused, chewing her lip, “Sorry. What did you say your name was?”
“I didn’t.”
Making for the door once again, he left Zelda with her mouth partly open, staring after him in quiet disbeleif. His fingers brushing the handle, he hesitated, looking back over his shoulder.
“It’s Revali,” he said, and was gone.
Zelda stood in place for a while until he was completely out of sight, her mind fumbling with the entire interaction. Her stomach had twisted itself into a squirmy knot, a feeling with which she was unfamiliar. She felt like she’d somehow been both insulted and praised at the same time.
Revali, she thought to herself.
What a dick.

Santa Baby (Christmas List)
The second prompt in 12 Days of Christmas by @zelink-prompts
Prompt List
**Note: For the stories actually involving Christmas, I and a few other authors changed the holiday to Hylia’s Day (credit to @fatefulfaerie for this) so that it’s more relevant to Hyrule

Cover Art: @neezlebums be sure to show some love to the original here!
Words: 2264
Summary: For their first Hylia’s Day together after everything that happened, Link just wanted to gift Zelda something special.
**If I don’t have explicit warnings, read with caution. It simply means there’s nothing I could think of that could be potentially triggering, but I could’ve just missed something. In that case, please let me know and I’ll be more than happy to put a warning!**
BotW, post-calamity with angry child Eggbert because I said so
Zelink-mas 2020 l Masterlist
Relearning everything about his past and about Hyrule was no easy feat. A world that was so familiar yet so foreign still left him unsettled at times, because he was a young adult trying to understand the things that nearly everyone else grew up with. It was fascinating to learn about traditions and holidays and how they came to be, and he did genuinely want to know everything he once knew and more.
It was how he’d ended up awake until the break of dawn, listening to Zelda tell stories of Hyrule’s past. She was in her element when she got to research or explore or teach. Watching her was something he felt incredibly lucky to do, much less sit so close to her on the bed while they poured over books. He wanted to be as prepared as possible.
He’d heard of Hylia’s Day before, but it would be his first time experiencing it (that he could remember). Zelda explained it as a celebration of love and giving, of friendship and of victory. She told him of the festivals they used to hold, and the balls they’d been forced to attend, and of the parties they used to have. She told him of the traditions of gift giving and of family gathering.
And when they finally settled down to sleep, Link asked her what she wanted for Hylia’s Day. She replied just as she always did—that she already had all she could ever want.
It didn’t stop him from trying, though. He brought it up at the most nonchalant of times, during breakfast or trips across the kingdom. He would listen intently every time she spoke, more so than usual, and tried to pick up on any instance of an “I want”. Only once did she give a direct answer, saying she wanted a Silent Princess.
Link was not satisfied with that. It wasn’t special enough, so he took it upon himself to fill Zelda’s nonexistent Hylia’s Day List.
He didn’t expect to feel as nervous as he did when the day actually came around.
“How does this look?” came the voice of Zelda from behind him. Link paused the stirring of his soup to turn around and answer her question. She’d been adjusting the decorations all morning, no matter how many times he’d promised her they looked fine.
“It looks perfect,” he replied. “Just like everything else.”
“Well, good, because I want this to be perfect,” she said, making her way to his side. “It’s the first Hylia’s Day we’ve had since—the first I’ve had outside of a castle. Getting to decorate and set everything up however you want is incredibly stressful. I want our friends to be comfortable and happy.”
“You worry too much,” stated Link in return, bumping her with his shoulder.
“I happen to worry a perfectly healthy amount, for your information.”
He chuckled and turned back to his task at hand: finishing up their dishes for the celebration. The traditions called for a family gathering, and their family was large in both number and size. A little extra wouldn’t hurt, even if their friends were all bringing their own dishes.
“You look beautiful, by the way,” he continued. Zelda’s cheeks flushed, even after a hundred years, and it made him want to smile. He loved when she wore things that were too big for her, including the white sweater that she had to keep pulling the sleeves up on because they were too long. The golden linings made it look fancier than it really was, but she called it comfortable on more than one occasion and it was soft to the touch, so it was one of his favorites too.
“Thank you,” she replied, hugging his arm. “I dressed myself and everything.”
“Wow, impressive,” he stated, pulling his arm free so that he could take the bread out of the oven. He didn’t miss the roll of her eyes before she turned back to the tree tucked into the corner.
“I can’t help thinking something’s missing,” she said. Link placed the pan on a rack before turning to face her again, reaching for one of her hands.
“It’s perfect,” he repeated, spinning her to face him. “The only thing missing is a star at the top, but I don’t think you’d fit.”
She gave his hand a gentle swat and huffed.
“You’re ridiculous.” But she was smiling anyway, and that was enough of a gift for him. He considered pulling her closer, spinning her around and trying to get her to laugh, but there was a knock on the door before he could. Link let go of her hand so she could answer it, and he was unsurprised to see Purah bouncing on her feet at the door, with Symin behind her carrying a far too large bag, probably full of presents.
“Check it!” she exclaimed--her form of a greeting, apparently. “Happy Hylia’s Day, you rascals! I’ve been looking forward to this all year!”
“Purah,” Zelda greeted. “It’s lovely to see you again!”
“You can put the bag down here,” Link told Symin, gesturing to the area under the stairs after shutting the door, keeping the cold outside. Now that Purah had stolen Zelda away for some excited conversation about Sheikah technology, Link had an opening. “Did Robbie manage to.. do the thing?”
“Fix it up? Yeah, I heard he and Purah talking last night. He was able to restore it, but I don’t know if it’ll have all the same functions as before,” Symin answered, his voice lowered to keep anyone from hearing. Some tension in Link’s shoulders relaxed. That was one thing checked off the list—the one thing he was really nervous about.
“I’m gonna owe Robbie an entire decayed guardian for this.”
“He’ll take payments in increments.”
Link snorted and shook his head. As eccentric as Robbie was, he was positive the Sheikah would try and refuse payment. But Link didn’t exactly need his permission to haul a decayed guardian up to Akkala’s Tech Lab, so it would turn out either way. He just hoped, with a glance towards Zelda, that it was the right gift.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Symin asked.
“You could take coats by the door,” Link joked as another knock echoed through their house.
He was pleased to see Sidon, Impa, and Paya were the next to arrive. But he didn’t get much of a greeting out before Sidon, crouching to get through the door, lifted him from the floor in a crushing hug.
“Happy Hylia’s Day, Link! Lovely to see you!”
All Link could really do was pat Sidon’s shoulder in return until his feet were returned to the ground.
The arrivals began increasing faster than he expected, with Teba and his family arriving next—with Kass in tow, of course.
“I’m worried we won’t have enough space,” Zelda stated suddenly, scaring the living daylights out of him. “We could move it outside, but we’d need a fire. I’m sure the Rito are fine with the cold, but we could give everyone else some blankets and coats. Do Zora get cold?”
“I don’t think so,” Link replied, furrowing his eyebrows. “The water in East Reservoir Lake wasn’t exactly warm, and Ruta hurling ice blocks at us didn’t make it any better.” He was still bitter that he didn’t think to use Cryonsis until he’d already been knocked off of Sidon twice.
“But the Zora are used to water, so perhaps they’re used to the cold as well.”
“Why don’t we just ask?” Link pointed out, bumping her with his shoulder. “We have a Zora.”
“You say that like Sidon is a pet,” Zelda scolded, crossing her arms.
“He’s basically a huge Hylian Retriever, yes.”
“Besides, would it be rude?”
Link grinned and ruffled her hair as he said, “Nothing is rude in the name of science.”
“Except eating a frog, apparently,” Zelda bit back, swatting at his hand.
“Oh, let it go,” he laughed. “I ate tons of frogs.”
“And?” she asked, lifting an eyebrow with a smug smile.
“You were right.”
“What are you two love birds talking about?” Sidon asked, and Link jumped for the second time that day. How could someone so large sneak up on him so easy, even if there was a good bit of noise in the house?
“Sidon!” Zelda said quickly, her cheeks flushed with pink. “We were just discussing moving everything outside.”
“Brilliant idea! Do you need help moving anything?”
Link thought of assuring Sidon he was a guest and didn’t need to lift a finger, but apparently those gears in Zelda’s head were turning.
“No, but we have a few extra strings of fairy lights,” she replied, tapping her chin. “We could put lights on the tree outside!”
“You,” Sidon said as he picked her up. “are a little genius, Princess! Everyone, outside!”
Link hardly got a word in before they were out the door. All he could do was laugh at them with a warm smile. This was more than he ever could’ve wanted.
“It’s good to see you happy.”
Kass was smiling at him, just in that way where he looked like he knew all he was thinking.
“Holiday cheer,” Link replied with a shrug, but Kass hummed.
“Ah, yes. Holiday cheer and nothing to do with dear Zelda.”
“Well,” Link sputtered, glancing towards the door everyone else had gone out of. “She helps. How’s, uh, how’s your song coming?”
“Rather well, actually. I think she’ll be pleased with it. Come, we’re missing all the fun.”
And Kass was right. Riju and Teba’s son were chasing each other around the pond, occasionally being joined by other village children, and Yunobo was being used as a rock pile to climb over in the process—not that he looked to mind it much. Buliara was observing carefully from her perch on the ramp, discussing something with Teba and Saki, and he was pleased to see they were all smiling.
Impa was busy scolding Purah for something, and Robbie was coming to her defense, and whatever Symin had interrupted with made them all laugh.
And then, to his (pleasant) horror, he found Zelda and Paya up in the tree, wrapping strings of lights around the bare branches. Sidon was underneath, wrapping another string around the trunk. They were having far too much fun with it.
Zelda spotted him from her perch and waved, and he had no choice but to join them in the decorating.
A little later into the evening, they sat around a campfire that turned out to be a joint effort and swapped various stories while they ate—stories about the Champions, who were there in spirit, about troubles they’ve solved, and other funny recalls of their lives. Link tried to listen, but his attention shifted every time he saw Zelda next to him with a smile on her face.
A gathering so wonderful wasn’t complete without swapping gifts. They’d given and received so many things, but Link chose to wait until everyone was finished to approach Zelda with his gift. Upon seeing the big box, she lifted an eyebrow.
“Alright. I know a Silent Princess isn’t this big, so what could you have possibly gotten me?” she asked, sitting in front of the crate. Link only shrugged and gestured for her to open it up.
Her careful fingers pulled the ribbon apart and she took the lid with both hands. He watched her closely, nervous for what her reaction would be.
Zelda was quiet for a moment, her eyes locked on the contents of the box. When she lifted her head to look at him at last, there were tears glistening in the firelight.
“Where did you find him?” she asked, her voice shaking.
“He was in that same crate on a shelf in your study. I brought it to Robbie and he was able to restore it,” he explained as he pressed the Sheikah Slate into her hands. Zelda tapped the screen with trembling fingers, and he bit back the urge to take her hand.
A soft beep filled the air and a blue light burst from the crate. A metal claw gripped the edge of the box, then a blue eye appeared and flipped its lid in greeting.
Zelda pressed a hand over her mouth and reached the other out towards the little guardian they’d found and studied all those years ago. It beeped again, pleased with her recognition, then scuttled out from the crate.
“It’s in near perfect condition. How did it get..?” But she decided she didn’t care and instead wrapped her arms tightly around Link, whispering out a million thank you’s. All he could do was press a kiss to her head and hold her close.
There were so many things he’d wanted to give her. There were so many things he wanted to say. But he knew of her love for the ancient technology, and he knew of her love for him.
Even if her list hadn’t truly existed, he wanted to give her something special. He wanted to give her everything and more, but for now, he was okay just giving her comfort that he remembered.
He remembered her, and he remembered their adventures, and he remembered her interests.
He remembered.
And by the kiss she’d given him, to the delight and cheering of the others, he thought it turned out to be the perfect gift after all.
Well, until the little guardian butted in with its opinion in not so polite beeps, but some things simply couldn’t be helped.

Super Nova
Chapter 5: Well Hello There
“Well, looks like we got ourselves a little Trandoshan stand-off.” Varex quipped amusedly.
“That was stupid.” Sayr felt the need to note, Varex let out a long breath through his nose. The crew of Sidon Ithano had blasters drawn on Varex’s crew, who had their blasters drawn and aiming back. Neither side moved. Sayr reached out with the Force once more, searching for something. Anything. There was a small ping in the Force but it was hard to pinpoint. She accidentally brushed against the consciousness of the man in front of her, who didn’t appreciate that at all.
“Hey! Cut that out!” Kix warned her, keeping Sayr at blaster point. She raised one hand in an apologetic gesture, and then let loose with a blast of energy, shoving the man, Twi’lek, and Captain off their feet. Krev and Varex then opened fire, their targets taking cover behind large boulders. Ithano and his crew soon returned fire, forcing Varex, Krev, and Sayr to take cover as well.
“Should we call for Avi and Darr?” Krev asked, ducking a blast that was too close. Varex took a moment to comm Avi, who was with Darr.
“Avi, Sidon Ithano and some of his crew have us pinned! Check to make sure there aren’t more outside the temple and then come in through the roof!” Varex ordered.
“Where do I find you?” Came Avi’s reply.
“Follow the blaster fire!” Krev yelled into Varex’s comm. From what Sayr remembered, Sidon Ithano had at least 4 members of his crew unaccounted for, and she didn’t know who the man with Ithano and Reveth was. Fresh meat I guess, she mused silently. He was a good shot though, she had to give him that. The man nearly hit her twice, she was just barely able to deflect his bolts with the Force.
On the other side of the room, Reveth commed to Quiggold who had heard the blaster fire erupt from where him and Squeaky stood guard. With comm in one hand and prayer beads in the other, the first mate listened as Reveth relayed that they only see three members of Varex crew, but not the other two.
“Be on the lookout for a Rodian and a Wookiee. We got these three.” She warned, blaster fire could be heard in background.
“A Wookiee, great.” Quiggold replied, not sure how he and Squeaky were supposed to fight off a Wookiee. However, what the peg-legged first mate lacked in height and speed, he made up with in smarts. If Varex was half as smart as he claimed, he would’ve called his teammates for backup. If they’re out here, they may come right across their path. Quickly he and Squeaky hid amongst the large vines that swirled around the temple, blasters at the ready. They’d catch their rivals by surprise.
Avi and Darr had been leaning against a large vine not far from the crevice their comrades had entered. The jungle had been quiet until the sound of blaster fire erupted from within the ruins. Varex’s voice then sounded over Avi’s comm, followed by Krev’s. The two hurried around the ruins, each taking a side so they could catch Ithano’s crew in the middle. However, Avi and Darr only met up again on the other side.
“Maybe they’re not here?” Avi questioned, looking around, his blaster held at the ready. Suddenly a blaster bolt flew from the jungle and grazed Avi’s shoulder. The Rodian cursed and both him and Darr ducked behind some boulders. They would need to take care of the crew members in the jungle first before trying to climb up the side of the temple, as that would leave them pretty exposed.
“We’re taking fire down here! It may be a little bit!” Avi commed back to his boss. The Rodian didn’t know how many pirates were hidden in the jungle, just that the Crimson Corsair usually travelled with at least five other crew members. Varex said some were in the temple ruins, so Avi wasn’t facing five assailants. I’ll just have to assume at least four, he decided going for the highest number possible (even if unlikely) was the best option.
Varex narrowly missed another bolt, this one sending chunks of rock flying. He couldn’t wait for Avi and Darr much longer, and if his two men were facing four others out there, then they’d need back up.
“Nova, go help Avi and Darr and bring them back here!” he yelled to Sayr over the blaster fire. The woman nodded, and left cover. Using the Force, she leapt from the ground to the mouth of the opening above.
“Oh no you don’t.” Kix muttered as he shot a grappling hook at the Force User, the wire twisting around her right leg. He pulled as hard as possible, propping a foot on the boulder he used as cover for leverage. Sayr hadn’t expected the hook, the metal prongs digging into her thick boot sole after swinging around her leg a couple times. The sudden yank ruined her ascent but she was able to grab onto the edge of the opening. Varex immediately fired at the man trying to pull his comrade down. The man was able to duck behind cover, but he still pulled firmly on the line around Sayr’s boot. She tried to pull herself up but the person on the other end was strong. She fought against him, using all the strength she had and a bit of the Force, actually pulling the man off the ground briefly. However, the Temple was fragile and the rock gave way under her, sending her falling back to the ground.
She used the Force to attempt to break her fall, but the floor hadn’t seen this much foot traffic in years, much less a blast of energy. The floor fell away in chunks, a dark chasm opening up between Varex and Krev and Ithano’s crew. Sayr fell right through it, too quickly for Kix to detach the grappling wire from his weapon. Sidon rushed to grab Kix but he wasn’t fast enough and the former clone was yanked forward and dragged right into the abyss with Sayr.
Sayriel attempted to brace herself with the Force once more, but didn’t use as much energy as previously. She still hit the ground hard enough on her back for her diaphragm to spasm and get the wind knocked out of her. As she gasped for air, she narrowly avoided being landed on by the man who’d hooked her. She caught him with the Force, his face inches from hers, and tossed him to the side. She wasn’t too gentle about it. He landed on the stone floor next to her, but was unharmed. She found it impossible to breathe for a moment or two, managing a groaning sound.
“What is it? Are you okay?” The man was suddenly kneeling at her side, looking surprisingly concerned. Sayriel glared at him and shoved him away, and angled her body away from him.
“What are you, like a doctor?” She wheezed once her breathing had returned, she slowly started to stand up. The man tried to help her, but she once again shoved him off.
“Well, I was a field medic….before.” Kix replied, his concern startling him. He had almost forgotten what it was like to act like a medic again. He’d patched up his fellow crew members loads of times, but helping a stranger wasn’t the norm anymore.
“I guess in your past life huh, before you became that.” The woman noted, gesturing at him. He kept his face emotionless when she had mentioned a past life, but it made him anxious inside. He watched as she looked around the empty room, trying to figure out exactly what this area was.
“Well, have fun finding your own way out of here doc.” Sayriel said to Kix, bending her knees and preparing to leap back up into the fray.
When she suddenly felt that ping again, this time much stronger. She looked suddenly in the direction of the feeling, just over the man’s left shoulder. Kix frowned and looked behind him, he didn’t see anything. But he knew that didn’t mean there was nothing there. He watched the Force User shake her head and prepare to jump again, but her head snapped back to that same location.
“What is it?” He asked, she shushed him. He doubted her feeling something was impacted by his speech, he glared at her.
Sayriel walked towards to the location. It was fairly dark here, the light from the hole she’d created only illuminated a small space. But there was an area that looked darker than it’s surroundings; this usually meant there was an opening. Walking past the former-medic-turned-pirate, she edged closer to the opening. She cautiously felt out with her foot and found a step, testing it carefully. She was about to feel out another step when she felt a nudge from the Force. Her Master would’ve instructed her to feel for the next step. She’d have to trust the Force that it was there and she wasn’t going to drop into a deep dark pit of nothing like part of her mind told her. She took a breath and closed her eyes and felt for the next step, and the ones after that.
Kix watched as she found a small set of stairs and began to follow them down. He wasn’t nearly as confident in his footwork as she seemed to be, of course she was a Jedi.
Force user he reminded himself. Keeping one hand on the wall, he followed her down the steps, his eyes slowly adjusting to the tiny bit of light available once he reached a small room where she stood. The room had tiny slivers of light falling through the ceiling where cracks had formed.
“What is this place? A secret room?” He wondered aloud.
“Not necessarily. All temples had a place to store ancient items when they weren’t in use. You didn’t keep an ancient text or a holocron on your desk.” Sayr replied quietly. Her tone implied that he should know this information.
“Yeah, okay then.” Kix shrugged, he really didn’t know what Jedi did. He could hear blaster fire going on still up top, the smoke from the bolts starting to filter down here through the tiny openings above them. He needed to get back to his group, but something had caught this woman’s attention.
Sayriel stood for a moment in the space, her eyes closed despite having someone who was essentially an enemy behind her. She currently didn’t feel much of a threat-like nature emanating from him, but that could change. She kept one hand on her holstered blaster, just in case. Suddenly she felt it again, in the wall, a whispering in the Force. With a wave of her hand, the rocks blocking the area the Force had indicated fell away, and there it was. The small cube, just barely glowing still after all these years. The link this place sits on probably has something to do with it, Sayriel thought to herself. She knelt down and gently picked the cube up, it felt lighter than she thought it would.
“What is it?” The man behind her said, trying to peer around her. Sayriel turned around and tossed the cube up once in her hand.
“Jackpot Doc.” She smirked.
Just then an explosion sounded from somewhere outside the temple, there was absolute silence from everyone. No speaking, no blasters, nothing.
“What the hell was that?!” Varex’s voice sounded over Sayr’s comm.
“I tossed a detonator at the pirates hidden in jungle, but it hit a vine and bounced back.” Avi’s voice came over. As if on cue, the ground and ruins around them started to shake. Bits of rock and dust fell down around Sayr and Kix.
“I’m going to kill that Rodian.” Sayriel muttered.
“Well, I’ll take this so you can go do that.” Kix replied smartly, snatching the holocron from Sayr’s hand and sprinted back up the stairs. Sayriel gave chase, tackling Kix at the top of the stairs. The man was stronger than she gave him credit for and fast. He put a boot on her stomach and, grabbing her wrists, flipped her up and over him. Sayr righted herself quickly and was about to strike at him again when a large rock fell from the surface and landed between them, shattering into smaller pieces on impact. They didn’t have time to fight. Moving quickly she grabbed his upper arm tightly, the man punching her square on the cheek using his free hand. Sayriel took the hit and, using the Force, tossed Kix back up to the level from which they’d fallen. The man gave a startled yell, which gave her some happiness.
“He has the holocron! He can’t get away!” Sayriel commed to Varex, who immediately opened fire on Kix. Reveth returned fire as Ithano pulled his crew member to safety. Sayriel herself then leaped to the next level, teetering on the edge until Krev could grab her shirt and yank her forward. Reveth had already begun to climb the rope they’d lowered earlier to the surface. She pushed Varex’s blaster down.
“We don’t have time anymore, this place is collapsing! We have to move!” Sayriel yelled, grabbing Varex and Force throwing the Zabrak up to the opening in the ceiling. Next she threw Krev out, much to his displeasure, and leapt out herself.
Once out of the ruins, she dodged a blaster bolt from Reveth who was shooting at Varex. Sayriel took ahold of Varex’s shirt and pulled him off the ruins. They didn’t have time to fight right now, that will change once they reach solid ground. She helped Krev away from the crumbling Temple, using the Force to pull him towards her and Varex.
“Stop doing that!” The Chiss exclaimed, shaking his arms and legs as if to rid himself of something unpleasant. Once away from the ruins, Sayriel turned around just in time to see Captain Ithano emerge from the opening. The famed pirate easily leapt down the side of the shifting boulders and landed safely. Kix and Reveth had taken off down the trail back to town, the former clone giving Sayriel a mocking wave as he did so. Glaring at him, she took off and gave chase.
Reveth shoved Kix in front of her, she’d cover him since he had the holocron in his backpack. She fired at Sayr who easily dodged the bolts. Soon they entered the town again, Kix and Reveth dodging crowds and vender stalls. People screamed and hurried out of the way, unsure of what was going on. Part of Kix felt bad when he accidentally bumped into people and they fell, he couldn’t risk stopping to help them up. Reveth just continued to push him forward. They needed to get to the ship. He looked back to see his comrade shove a vender cart in Sayriel’s path, the Force User gracefully leaping over it and continuing her pursuit without missing a beat. He had forgotten how agile those people could be. Soon they were back in the jungle, Kix could feel his face covered in sweat and his legs were starting to hurt. He had worked out fairly regularly since he was found, but he still had a little ways to go until he was back to prime condition. There was a roar and both he and Reveth turned to spot a Wookiee barreling after them behind Sayriel.
“Damn, I forgot she was friends with him.” Reveth said breathlessly as she caught up to Kix. If the Wookiee was close behind them, then the others couldn’t be far away. Reveth hoped her comrades could hold the others off. They rounded a corner and sprinted as fast as possible to put some distance between them and their pursuers. Soon they busted out of the jungle and found themselves back in the clearing. There was only one problem, they had to wait for the rest of the crew. They turned just in time to see Darr enter the clearing behind them, he was sweaty and panting. Darr made a b-line for Kix, who readied his blaster to fire. However just before the Wookiee made it to him, the creature fell down heavily and was being dragged back. Kix looked and spotted Reveth at the controls of one of the large construction cranes, she’d used it’s claw to snag the Wookiee’s leg and hauled the creature up into the air. She locked the controls and left him dangling and roaring angrily. Kix didn’t speak Shyriiwook but he could guess the Wookiee wasn’t wishing him a long and happy life.
That’s when Sayr ran into the clearing. Despite her clothing being soaked with sweat, she kept running full speed, her eyes were locked on Kix. He hadn’t fought a Force User in decades, and then he had multiple brothers backing him up, not just one other comrade. Not that Reveth was useless, far from it actually. It’s just that they may need more back up soon. Using the Force, Sayr shoved Reveth aside, the Twi’lek shooting at her as she tumbled. Sayr dodged those with an easy flip and ducked the ones from Kix’s blaster. Sayr grabbed the man’s blaster and yanked it out of his hands, tossing it aside. He grabbed her wrists and head-butted her in return. Both were visibly dazed by that, Sayr staggering back and blinking. Kix shook his head and blink a few times as well, but held his ground. He hadn’t head-butted anyone without a helmet on in a very long time. Taking advantage of the situation, Kix launched himself into Sayr, who recovered quickly.
“No you don’t.” She mimicked his action from earlier, propelling him up and over her with her foot on his abdomen. The holocron fell out of the backpack and landed between them. The whine of a speeder engine could be heard in the distance. Sayr started to pull the cube into her hand with the Force, Kix scrambling up to intercept it, when suddenly a cord shot out and wrapped around Sayriel’s wrists. She stared at the cord for moment like she didn’t know what it was, her gaze following it to it’s source. Quiggold and Squeaky had arrived on a speeder bike they’d commandeered from the town, they had fired the speeder’s small tow cable at Sayriel. Quiggold then gunned the speeder engines, yanking Sayriel away from Kix and the cube, dragging her across the ground. Captain Ithano appeared from the jungle, followed closely by Varex, Krev, and Avi. Varex fired at Ithano but Reveth covered him as he headed to the ship. They needed to start it up and get out of here. Sayr used the Force to pull on Quiggold’s speeder and was able to get her footing, the first mate fighting back by pushing the speeder forward. Sayr’s boots slid a bit on the ground, but she kept her balance and pulled back with her strength and the Force, focusing on the speeder’s engines. If she could get them to overheat, they’d explode. Kix watched the tug-of-war unfold, grabbing the cube from the ground and securing it back in his backpack. He had almost forgotten what Force Users were capable of. The engines of speeder sparked and little pops started to sound off from the innards of the machine.
“Cut her loose Squeaky!” Quiggold yelled over the screaming speeder engines. The Gamorrean swung a small axe from his belt and severed the cord. The sudden slack on the cord almost knocked Sayr off her feet, but she held the speeder.
Kix needed a way to distract her before she blew up his comrades. Tossing the backpack to Reveth, he ran to the crane that still held up the Wookiee, who struggled against the metal claw enclosed around his leg. Jumping into the operating chair, he unlocked the controls and swung the crane around. The Wookiee was now positioned directly above the woman called Nova. Darr called down to Sayr who glanced up and then over to Kix, who released the Wookiee from the crane. It worked. Sayr released the speeder just in time to catch the Wookiee before he landed on her. Quiggold and Squeaky sped towards the now running ship, jumping off the speeder and running up the ramp. Kix followed closely behind.
As the ship took off, the former clone turned and looked at the Force User, who was still holding the Wookiee up. She looked furious. He smirked and gave her a mocking salute as the ramp retracted and the door closed. Sayriel watched the ship fly away, and the holocron with it. She was exhausted, it had been a while since she’d used the Force to that extent. She gently set Darr on the ground and sat down herself, placing her head between her knees.
“Don’t look so glum.” Varex said, seemingly too cheerful about the fact they lost one of the holocrons. He seemed to read the look on her face easily, pulling out his datapad in response. Sayriel took it and looked at the screen, a small dot beeped with a set of coordinates near it.
“A tracker. You put a tracker on the ship.” She said wearily, Varex nodded and pulled his friend to her feet.
“Since we know where they’re going, we’ll have a bit of an advantage. We can search other possible locations and then retrieve the holocrons they find.” Krev said. The possibility of some sweet revenge made Sayr feel better.
